A USA Today review of Dunkirk is under increased scrutiny from industry peers for warning viewers that it lacks women and minorities.
Social media ridicule followed the publishing of writer Brian Truitts reaction to director Christopher Nolans latest film, a World War II tale about Allied soldiers attempting to survive while pinned down by German adversaries. The columnist gave the film a glowing review while saying its lack of diversity may rub some the wrong way.

White is a color.
WARNING Snowflakes: This film has no transgender characters! It seems to be full of beastly oppressive “Cisgender” types who want to impose their delusions of masculinity upon the world!!!
Just saw Spiderman and it is a fun story ruined by political correctness from the opening shot where the obligatory slam, White Privilege was raised to the rant about capitalism at the end.
Screw them all.
The Ministry of Truth is hard at work.
“Considering Hamilton won all the Tony Awards last year, do you really need to ask?”
I am not a Hamilton apologist, I’ve not seen it, nor have any interest in seeing it. Broadway is just yuck.
But the casting really has no bearing in thiis case with respect to historicity or the ideas or life being presented, if they were being presented.
In other words if the okay reflects and gets across Hamilton’s words and ideas and aspects of his life, it doesn’t really matter who the actor is.
As it is, I think it is a gimmick that worked.
The same could be true for this Dunkirk movie, too. But it would be dumb or weird.
"...Steve McQueen..."
McQueens character was invented as far as I am aware.
................................. ????? There is a motorcycle monument located in the square in Sagan, I don’t know if it was attributed to Mc Queen or the real person who rode it. BTW,FYI, The Luftwaffe POW camp even had a small golf course that was put together by the POWs.
There was a movie named “ZULU”, telling of the total defeat of a British column marching into “ZuluLand” in Africa.
100% of the victorious warriors were “of color”.
100% of the dead losers were WHITE.
I recall not a single protest of the segregating of roles.
Historical accuracy is what counted.
Like most modern films, they are meant to throw in a black guy. They could have written him in as a French colonial soldier from Mali or somewhere, fighting for France, whose unit was destroyed by the Germans, etc... Of course, that character would overcome racism to heroically save his new allied comrades fleeing Dunkirk
Even though such a thing likely never existed that’s the sort of propaganda Hollywood excels at.
But, but just imagine the great movie scene it would have been when a British soldier decided he was a menstruating female eagle, flapped his arms, and flew back to England.
Well, all the villains are white males too.
They worked a “Moor” into Robin Hood, which is ridiculous, but then they use a Sub Saharan African to portray the character, which is just simply a lie.
Imagine the outrage if all the Luftwaffe pilots in the film were black or hispanic.
Yes everyone knows Moors were Negroes. Only they weren’t.
Same for Cleopatra and nearly every Egyptian portrayed in a recent film or show.
They'd rather these films were not made in the first place.

there are certain movies that come out that i reallllly want to see like Dunkirk, the coming Churchill movie, the new Blade Runner even the Aliens movie from last month.
The problem is i have ZERO desire to go to a movie theater to see them.
Hardly any but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t include midgets, trannys, clowns, playboy bunnies, sumo wrestlers, astronauts, tigers, race cars, teletubbies, jugglers on stilts as well otherwise people will be offended. ,
