I've always wondered about the origins and meanings (if any) behind others Freeper handles. Its a quiet Sunday morning, so I thought it would be an interesting topic to start the day.
What's the story behind your handle?

Mine was a computer generated password given to me in the late 90’s by Unisys Corporation.
nobody else uses it and a lot easier than dealing with different variations of “Brian”.
Only prob is some people confuse it with a certain strain of marijuana...
Many FReepers have been surprised that I am a Cranky Old WOMAN...(COW) They thought I was a guy. Ha Ha.
And a smart salute to you. The thump of two bladed choppers still send a chill... long before I should be able to hear them. Mine was retired rank and first two letters of my last name.

My parents had a child and they named it.
AOL did have some crazy passwords. I used 99% of those AOL disks as coasters...I think I was one of the first on AOL with my little Commodore 64...

My father was an army aviator, flying fixed wing in Vietnam around that same time. He also received the DCF, and claimed that it was the only medal he was proud of, besides his CIB. I never learned the circumstances- the mission was classified, and he never heard that it had been declassified, so he didn’t tell us.
I did figure out later that they were doing radio triangulation to locate the enemy. Dad flatly stated that they knew where the enemy were. He also stated that while there, he sat down and did an evaluation of the situation, and determined that we could have cleared everything up in about three weeks (if the political will had been there).
When I was flying fighters in the USAF, I was a Flight Commander.
As a Flight Commander I had a dozen young fighter pilots that reported to me.
Because of my kind, supportive, nurturing and quiet leadership, my guys started to refer to me as “Hulka.”

My name is based off my awakening.
I could not understand our world. I tried to escape it by becoming worldly for close to 20 years. It did nothing for me and left me empty and unfulfilled in life
One night when I was at a low point in life. I turned to my Bible for help. It led to me surrendering to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This was not planned and it was from a random passage I just read. Did it in the early morning hours when most people are asleep and no one was around. It was a momentous change. My life path and spiritual journey changed at that point. I was not longer spiritually dead. Looking back initially it was a slow change sort of turning around a big ship. Although the best move I made in life.
During my journey I’ve come across many things that have rattled me to my core. The old me would have most likely never understood. Even if I did understand what I found out, then I would deny and ignore it. This is how I would protect myself.
Furthermore, my studies, research and some practice of health, religion, psychology, human conscious, mind control, natural law and the occult after being saved by Lord Jesus Christ is how I came up with my name “Enlightened1”.
