I’m 60, my last woman passed away 3 years ago, unfortunately where i live there isn’t much going, if i was able to swing it financially i think taking a month long vacation on Oahu and Maui would be best for me.

I feel for you, Daniel Ramsey! I'm 61 and lost my wife back in June and it's been a tough go of it ever since. I'm setting my sights on moving to Colorado when I retire and joining my younger son, his wife and my grandson. I'll have my own place. This gives me something to look forward in life. Keep that dream of a month long vacation to Oahu and Maui alive and start putting some money aside for it. Plan for it and it will give you something to look forward to!

What I do find frustrating, is that most don’t realize it... they claim they want a relationship, but then cannot remotely function in one and just make other folks miserable and/or themselves. I have many friends who have never been in a serious relationship, of both genders, that are over 40, and its quite evident, to me anyway, that they are by and large not candidates for serious relationship consideration. They, consciously or unconsciously, too much into what they desire, and have had that freedom far too long, that they are going to change. Yep. I don't think it's realistic for someone like me to be looking for a "serious relationship." Everything from merging old retirement accounts (big financial decision) to loading the dishwasher (piddly daily decision) have been a one person decision for so long, I'd don't think I'd be able to adjust to two person decisions.

But the dating scene looks totally weird to me. My wife works with a woman in her forties, and she has always been single. She is looking for a man, but is very picky. She has very definite physical requirements, look requirements, and for longer term, financial requirements.

When I see that, it doesn't impart me with a positive view of the person. I can see wanting someone physically attractive, and let's face it, what guy doesn't? I assume women are the same. But there are things you have to give on.

Of course people want someone good looking but if that's your criteria, then you are way too shallow.

Because in case people haven't noticed, age is NOBODY'S friend.

Very few people age well and keep their looks enough to be considered even attractive as they age.

Looks WILL fade. Then what? Go looking for a better model when you aren't any more?

We’re still happily hitched.

Still study the bible though, it helps life in so many ways.

Not many women these days willing to make their husbands a sandwich- They view it as beneath them- but on the flipside- not many men today are truly appreciative of a woman making them a sandwich either- They act like they think they are owed that act-

And it's that attitude that I think greatly contributed to the rise of feminism.

Women don't like being treated like they are the live in help with privileges.

After one messed up marriage (God still blessed me with two great kids and 4 grandchildren - so far - from it) I started looking at a woman's eyes first and have been very happily married for over 25 years.
