Season ending episode. Didn't see a thread posted so here we go.
How about archers with dragon glass tipped arrows? This is where Gendry might come in handy..
I thought Gendry was a hammer man?
Fire did not kill the bear wight. Dragonglass did, iirc.
Now we know why it’s called dragonglass.
I wonder how many People who watch that Show think that Dragons actually existed and blame Man Made Globull Warming for their Extinction?
I’ll bet it’s more than you think.
Indeed.
They've had some nice nods to the fans this season. When Gendry re-entered the story, Davos joked that he thought Gendry "might still be rowing". A direct nod to much internet joking about "where's Gendry?"
And last night, Sandor Clegane walked right up to Gregor Clegane and said "I'm coming for you". Yup. Clegane Bowl will happen.
He was a forger of weapons.. At one time he was given some arrowheads to copy or manufacture duplicates....
There isn’t enough time left to be too unpredictable and frankly GOT’s has always been pretty predictable... the only reason audiences were always thrown aback by characters being killed off was not that their killing was unpredictable, but that most TV avoids killing off what is perceived to be a major character. SO its outside the norm of expectations, not outside the norm of logical predictability.
There has not been 1 death of GOT, that really wasn’t obviously coming... once you realized this was a machiavellian story, there is nothing shocking or surprising about anyones death really, other than perhaps the manner in which they happen.
The secondary players have to die, you have to get down to man vs dead... you have have to have the wall fall, you have to have the players lesson to lead to the final conflict. Little Finger’s incessant political manipulations really serve no purpose going forward, at this point the conflict is binary... Those who can’t or refuse to figure this out, will either hide or be steamrolled.
I suspect highly most fans will be disappointed, as the pacing of the story is going to continue to clean up loose ends quickly. Lets face it, it took 6+ seasons for the queen of Dragons to reach the shores of westeros, but in less than one, 3 of the 7 kingdoms have fallen... the wall has been breached, and the force of man are “largely” on the same page...
There are 10 hours of programming left... and the “war” with the dead must be concluded and all the remaining political drama and secrets must come out and be resolved.... I am not saying there may not be some twists and turns, but when you think that this is a war for mankind itself, that’s been coming for centuries... to think that 10 hours of film will do it all justice.... ???? I suspect not, but that’s the reality
Started bing watching this season on Friday and caught up just in time for the finale.
Interesting twists for next/final season.
I read that Season 8 will have only 6 extended-length episodes.
Considering the success of the series and the increasing number of viewers, I would expect one or more attempts at spin-off series.
” Clegane Bowl will happen.”
I don’t think the Hound is good enough to take the Mountain.
Guess: The Hound will be down on his knees, the Mountain will go for the kill and Brianne will step in cut him down.
Hound is humble enough now to accept that and be thankful.
Its not a fear of killing off characters... its the characters left to lose are dwindling... yes they could kill off a few more.. but reality is, the story is reaching its end... in the earlier seasons the “universe” in which the story was told was ever expanding... as it comes to its conclusion... its ever shrinking.... Can’t cut to some new set of characters in some town you never heard of and spend a season building up a back story for them and their place within the larger dynamic of the story... have to finish the story... no doubt some more characters will die... but spending an entire season on the sadistic little brat princ and just how sadistic he is, and another on the sadistic little bastard and how sadistic he is... no longer the time to spend on that kind of gore porn.
Or have Westeros sparrows drop dragonglass coconuts on him.
While once intersting, these characters have become booring. Tyrion hasnt said anything witty in three seasons.
Great point about pleasing the fans.
Yep, boring and/or one dimensional.
I was hoping that little prick would get it soon.
Propane.
I give Bronn the award for most insightful character in season 7.
I think one reason this was done...going offbook...was so that viewers would not what was coming (after they were hooked) if they'd read the books. GRRM is still involved with the writing so it does maintain an air of authenticity.
Not specifically. But the Knight king has demonstrated that he is immune to fire. And thus, since he resurrected Viserion as an Ice Dragon in the last episode, so he is too.
Plus, the Wall was created through magic and only by magic can it be destroyed. Dragons are magic.
