When I was in school it was very rare we saw kids like this. Most of them had their own special school. Remember only one child with CP in Junior High and never saw her after that. Don’t know if she got worse or transferred elsewhere.

I always felt mainstreaming these kids was a very bad idea for lots of reasons this being one of them. Bullying went on when we were in school for normal kids but for these kids? It’s way worse and no way to stop it. Plus really the school does not care unless the kid is gay or transgender. It’s simply unfair to put a special needs kid into this situation.

Yes, schools pretend to be but often are not capable of properly caring for these kids (especially when you consider the >10% absenteeism rate among teachers).
