There is only one entity to blame for all of this sh*t. The parents. They allow these school board members to promote this crap and then go ballistic when they find out that there 4t grader is being taught about anal sex or why Islam is better than Christianity.
A friend told me a story...One of his buddies got sick of the BS. Ran for school board and won, thinking he’d be able to see what was really going on and make the changes that his neighbors talked about. School district found out that a principal had stolen a very large sum of money. Parents found out that the starting quarterback, from the HS team, was injured. Guess what most of the phone calls, he received, were about. It certainly wasn’t the principal.
People want to know why kids today want everything. Look at how parents have to send their kids to school. They have shopping lists, generated by the school, telling the parents what they can buy. All the supplies are then handed to the teacher. The kids have no idea what’s going on. All they know is that if they need something, they go to the Central Authority Figure in the room, ask for it and get it. When the supplies run low, the parents are asked to buy more.
I asked my sister if I could buy my nephews some Superman and Incredible Hulk notebooks, one year. I was told that they weren’t allowed and that they’d be taken away, because the school didn’t want anyone to be different than anyone else.
Kids are learning socialism/communism in elementary school and we wonder why they are like they are now.

50 years ago in school: You got caught with a piece of gum or candy. You were then asked if you brought enough for everybody to have some. If not, you had to forfeit yours to be “fair”.

Same here. It all goes into the community pot. At the end of the year, teachers fill the school dumpsters with brand new school supplies. Yes, I've seen it with my own eyes and have gone diving myself. Next year rolls around and they're sending out long supply lists again. Then about week 3, they're whining they have to spend their own money because little Jose doesn't have safety scissors and glue. EXCUSE ME! What about everything they threw out last year and the year before and the year before and the year before and the year before? HUH? Explain that! Yes, agree it all starts with the parents. First, they don't bother asking about the school before moving into the neighborhood. Then, when some ridiculous rule is placed on their kids, they play along instead of putting a stop to it. Our kids went to a small town conservative Texas school so we didn't have many problems but there was usually one or two things each year I couldn't let ride. I subbed and volunteered for 13 years to see first hand what was going on. I was at all the kids' practices and games, etc. I was on the phone calling the principal, supt. and school board if there was a stupid new rule - don't tell the kids they can't wear football mums Thursday afternoon after they've already been purchased and don't tell them they can't dress up for Halloween the day before after their costumes have been purchased. Both of those things have been tradition since long before my school days. And you're out of your freakin' mind if you think my little 4th grader is going to be sent out to the field to pick up used condoms, needles and who knows what else. Mums, got on the phone with the two florists and informed them. Hey, small town and the florists count on the income Homecoming weekend. Got on the phone with Walmart and the party store which are the only two places, aside from two grocery stores, in the entire county that sells Halloween costumes. Moments later, the stupidity ended. Most times, all it takes is a well placed phone call to a board member, a business owner or the newspaper and poof! the problem goes away. Five minutes of a parent's time once or twice a year is a small price to pay for a decent school environment. Or run for a seat on the school board.

Yes, it’s all about sharing. They start in kindergarten. Everyone has to share. I told my sons if you are playing with or using something and another kid asks to have you tell them, “wait till I’m done” and keep playing.
