LeBron James calls Donald Trump a 'bum'

LeBron James called Donald Trump a "bum" after the US President rescinded an invitation for Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry to go to the White House.

Trump tweeted Saturday that Curry is no longer invited to the White House because of what the president called hesitation by the two-time NBA MVP in deciding whether to make the traditional champions' trip to Washington.

That prompted an angry response from Cleveland Cavaliers star James.

James tweeted: "U bum. Stephen Curry already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honour until you showed up!"

Trump's comment on Curry came one day after the president told NFL owners to fire players who won't stand for the national anthem.

It was not immediately clear whether Trump was rescinding the invitation for Curry or the entire team.

"Going to the White House is considered a great honour for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!" Trump wrote from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

The Warriors, who hold their first practice of the season Saturday, had not made a collective decision whether to go to the White House in celebration of last season's title.

Curry has said he did not want to make such a visit.

"By acting and not going, hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to," Curry said Friday at the Warriors' media day. "It's not just the act of not going. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion."

At a rally in Alabama on Friday night, Trump said NFL players who refused to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" are exhibiting a "total disrespect of our heritage." Several NFL players, starting last season with then-San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, have either knelt, sat or raised fists during the anthem to protest police treatment of blacks and social injustice.

"That's a total disrespect of everything that we stand for," Trump said, encouraging owners to act. He added, "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you'd say, 'Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out! He's fired."

I like LeBron, he is a good player. He has the right to say whatever, but it will be a bitter feud between sports and the Trump administration.

Oh boy.

Yeah, right, LeBron. Trump has built a MASSIVE real estate empire with high-end hotels in multiple places around the world--places only the likes of you could afford to stay for more than one night.

Your political activism is starting to turn off fans. Michael Jordan in his heyday correctly assessed that being political would destroy the viability of the Air Jordan brand at Nike, especially in the 1990's the Air Jordan brand was a massive moneymaker for that company. Mr. James, you already saw what Leftist political activism did to seriously hurt Target Corporation and Kellogg's, Incorporated; don't go down the road to become a financial victim like that what happened to these two companies.

People don't have to watch the men of the NBA play a child's game.

Make betting illegal on sports and watch the fan base dry up.

What's LeBron gonna do when the NBA folds, brain surgery, start a statue removal service, or be a professional twitter writer.

These athletes are mostly Democrats just like Hollywood actors. Their opinions have no more value than the butcher or the candlestick maker. Maybe less.

Yawn. LeBron is done. Kyrie popped smoke for a reason - - LeBron thinks he’s the superstar, the coach and the GM. Dan Gilbert will fellate him all day long to keep a NE Ohio boy in place.

I would like to see a tweet war between LeBron and Trump, though.

[[These people disgust me]]

You and me both- The ‘fans’ are what is keeping this nonsense and disrespect alive- It would be nice to see a concerted effort by fans to boycott a couple of games in protest over kapernic and lebron etc- and anyone else that disrespects this country or our president!

The tea party —SHOULD ORGANIZE— a boycott- if enough people were to stop going for a couple of games- it would send a loud clear message that the actions of people like lebron and kapernic are UNACCEPTABLE!

“He has the right to say whatever...”

It mystifies me as to why people feel it necessary to preface a criticism with that line. Everybody.

I was once, as it were, called out for criticizing the Dixie Chicks. “They have a right to say whatever they want to!!!!” I was told. Yes, I said, and I have the same right to criticize what they said.

LeBron James is still upset he'll never be as GREAT as Michael Jordan.

James has no class. None whatsoever.

And if he is trying to get a message out, he and his ilk are doing a terrible job of it by pissing off millions of his customers; his fans who pay for his lavish lifestyle.

Then again, he has made his millions and could care less.

This kind of attitude will destroy professional sports and with it the jobs that are available to inner city black kids. Sadly, they drew first blood and I am glad to see Trump fight back for us.
