Playboy founder and legendary ladies’ man Hugh Hefner has died at the age of 91, according to Playboy Enterprises.
The magazine said he was surrounded by loved ones and “peacefully passed away today from natural causes at his home.”
“Lots of people seem to think Hef is burning in hell right about now. I see no evidence of this.”
Well, based on all available public Information, there was never any evidence of Christian conversion.
Due to fall of Adam, we are all conceived in sin (Psalm 51:5) and bound for hell, not just smut peddlers. Unless he repented and turned to Christ, he’s bound for conscious eternal torment in hell, just as I would be if Christ hadn’t showered me with His mercy and grace. Hefner’s life is a cautionary tale. He lived a debauched, hedonistic, foolish life. Now it’s time to reap what was sown.

A man given over to his own lust like few others. I imagine part of his punishment in life was to watch his empire implode around him to become irrelevant and treated like a punchline in later years. His famed mansion was already up for sale and now, without the demand that he live there (presuming it wasn’t to include a macabe afterlife museum like Graceland) can be sold or bulldozed.
My pastor said within every man who doesn’t find God ultimately lurks someone who yearns to become Hitler or Hefner - either to rule the world or pursue hedonism. For, with no God, what is there left to pursue than to conquer one’s world or drown in its pleasures? Both Hitler’s and Hefner’s lives ended with the knowledge that their empires had crumbled before their eyes to ruin and yet God’s Kingdom remains and will flourish forevermore.

He was definitely a mixed bag.However, along with the Kinsey reports, Peyton Place etc he contributed mightily to ending the bogus hypocritical faux puritanism that plagued the country from the beginning. Ultra self righteous worthies such as the Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker, Mike Murdoch types exposed. In short, since all the prurience and debauchery was going on sub rosa, Hef and other factors liberated us all.

Many of the posters here don’t realize he didn’t even have pleasure in THIS life. He had to take massive amounts of Viagra and dispense Quaaludes to get his girls to loosen up. “His girls” had all kinds of substance abuse problems and were mainly just using him to get careers, and according to Holly Madison “wanted to get out of the bedroom as quickly as possible”. He had a strict curfew and rules. He had a “repugnant bedtime routine.” His mansion smelled like dog piss and crap.
The average dad out there who is working to put food on the table, married a good, decent woman and raised kids who love him *has infinitely more real honest pleasure* than Hef could ever dream of.
But since Americans have cut out their own brains and hearts and replaced it with their genitalia we are going to be subjected to the lionization of this degenerate cretin.

It wasn't girly-men who read Playboy. It were men scarred by battle; the forests of the Ardennes, the beaches of Normandy, the jungles of Guadalcanal, the hills of Korea, who said, "I've seen how quickly this all can end. I'd like to see Marilyn Monroe naked."

Indeed. I really hate all the hagiography for such a vile man. Unfortunately most people, including most FReepers, do not know Christ or understand the gospel. Many believe they do, but they don’t. They may have a Christian-influenced morality, but that doesn’t mean they know Christ and have been saved.
I’d rather say nothing whatsoever about Hefner, but feel obligated to speak up because of those here who remember him fondly and those pretending he might not be hellbound.
This life is fleeting, it’s a vapor. Most of us here have already seen an awful lot of sand drop in the hourglass, yet most have little real concern over eternity. I wish I could get every single FReeper to watch the link below. It’s a well-done presentation of the gospel.

Really now! So how do explain the fact that Mr. Anti-Puritanism had his girls under a STRICT CURFEW then? Eh?
I despise Puritanism (I'm Catholic so they would have despised me right back), but the fact that Americans...heck...FREEPERS can't even tell the difference between starched-collar uptight Puritanism and JUST BASIC SEXUAL MORALITY which even flipping pagan civilizations demanded of their citizens for hundreds of years makes me convinced we are going to crash and burn like no country has ever done before.
Keep putting your full faith and credit in the Sexual Revolution (TM) there buddy. See where it gets you at the end of your life. Meanwhile the rest of us who are trying to crawl out of this hellhole think that whatever hypocrisy and Puritanism existed in the 1950s was still light years better than this soul-shattering, family-destroying orgy of narcissism we got going on right now.
