Planet Nine could be our solar system's missing 'Super Earth'

Planet Nine is out there, and astronomers are determined to find it, according to a new statement from NASA.

...

While the mysterious world still has yet to be found, astronomers have discovered a number of strange features of our solar system that are best explained by the presence of a ninth planet, according to the NASA statement.

In 2016, Batygin and co-author Mike Brown, an astronomer at Caltech, published a study that examined the elliptical orbits of six known objects in the Kuiper Belt, a distant region of icy bodies stretching from Neptune outward toward interstellar space. Their findings revealed that all of those Kuiper Belt objects have elliptical orbits that point in the same direction and are tilted about 30 degrees "downward" compared to the plane in which the eight official planets circle the sun, according to the statement.

...

"Over long periods of time, Planet Nine will make the entire solar-system plane precess, or wobble, just like a top on a table," Batygin said in the statement.

Finally, the researchers demonstrate how Planet Nine's presence could explain why Kuiper Belt objects orbit in the opposite direction from everything else in the solar system.

"...These things have been twisted out of the solar system plane with help from Planet Nine and then scattered inward by Neptune."

“Pluto really wasn’t a “planet””

It is still a planet. Just classified as a dwarf planet.

20% the mass of our moon. There is another dwarf planet orbiting our sun with a mass slightly larger than Jupiter.

Computer models say there must be a 9th planet then by golly it must exist, the computer models can’t be wrong. I’m sure we can’t see it because it’s being blocked by all the Dark Matter or Dark Energy or Higgs Bosons or strings that computer models also predict must exist.

Possibilities:
  1. Planet 9 is a dark planet that doesn't reflect light.
  2. Ming the Merciless is playing with gravitational waves again.
  3. There is something in another dimension that is warping space time in ours.
  4. Earth is a penal colony of planet 9 and planet 9 has deliberately hidden themselves so we can't find our way home.

“Pluto forever!”

When Pluto was first discovered it was estimated to be the size of Earth!

Now we know that it is less than 1% the mass of Earth!

NASA and dirty are determined to find planet nine no matter how much of our money it takes.

Why? What good does it do us?

And to be honest, there are a lot of old legends about another planet that blows through the solar system on occasion.

Worlds in Collision, Immanuel Velikovsky, 1950, documents one that blew in and stuck around.

To Pluto -- And Far Beyond "To Pluto And Far Beyond" By David H. Levy, Parade, January 15, 2006 -- We don't have a dictionary definition yet that includes all the contingencies. In the wake of the new discovery, however, the International Astronomical Union has set up a group to develop a workable definition of planet. For our part, in consultation with several experienced planetary astronomers, Parade offers this definition: A planet is a body large enough that, when it formed, it condensed under its own gravity to be shaped like a sphere. It orbits a star directly and is not a moon of another planet.
