COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus teen is out of the hospital after he was robbed and beaten unconscious, all because of a pair of shoes.
13-year-old Aiden Winter said he was so excited to buy his first pair of Air Jordan Sons of Mars shoes. Aiden bought the shoes three months ago, after working to mow grass in summer.
This past Sunday, Aiden, his sister and friend were walking to the store in west Columbus when he saw who he thought was an old friend.
“When I walked over there, he was like, ‘Hey I like your shoes’,” Aiden said. “He asked if they were real and I said yes.”
That’s when Aiden said the boy and nine others started to attack him.
“They started kicking me and punching me,” he said. “All I heard was my sister say, ‘Don’t take it, don’t take it [the shoes]’.”
Aiden’s mother, Erika Winter, said the attackers “punched and kicked him until he was unconscious, and then they kept punching and kicking him until someone called the police.”
Hope the white kid learned to not buy Jordans again.
“9 black perps.”
So how did they decide who got the shoes?

Sorry for the kid but what white parent is so ignorant as to buy their child Air Jordans?
1. He had a job mowing laws and that’s how he paid for the Jordans.

Within the last year or two there was a shooting episode in a shoe store somewhere, where the perp got into a confrontation with another kid and ended up getting gunned down by an armed security guard. There was a video clip from a security camera in the story posted here on a FreeRepublic thread about the incident. It was clear from the video tape that many of the mall patrons were the kind of people you would usually try to avoid (if you catch my drift).
One astute Freeper looked at the video clip and pointed out that the owners of the shoe store were very smart people. The racks of shoes closest to the door were filled with merchandise that could easily be stolen by someone who wanted to just grab it and run out the door. This Freeper noticed that all of the shoes on the racks closest to the door were work boots. LMAO.

Sounds like the kid knew at least one of the attackers. Was it an “old friend”, or was Aiden mistaken? If it really was an old friend, why ain’t he in the hoosegow squealing on his homies?
I looked up these sneakers and they sell for $120 at Foot Locker.Why does a 13 year old kid need $120 sneakers? Why didn't he buy $60 or $70 sneakers and put the rest in the bank? That's what I would have done.That's what my Dad,a child of the Great Depression,taught me to do....live below your means.
