AJ Dillon watched the first Red Bandanna Game on television, a 16-year-old Boston-area high schooler imagining what it would be like to celebrate on the field with his teammates and the crowd pouring over the railings to join them. "I got a chance to be a part of that today," Dillon said after Boston College beat Florida State 35-3 on Friday night. "As a team, as a university, this was a really big win for us."

Three Men and a Truck for Jimbo...
Everyone goes through a year like this.
I always try to catch a little of the BC Wells Crowther game each year.
If any Freepers have not checked out the ESPN mini-feature on Wells please do so, it’s a story of the best America produces.
Sad to think FSU and UF are now the 4th and 5th best teams in the state of Florida. (I think now even FAU could beat them)
The bowl series will still try to put FSU in a bowl. The current ranking system is ridiculous. Major conference teams float up to the top even when they suck. We have no idea if Wisconsin is even any good. They don’t play anybody until their last few games as the big 10 has 9 teams that suck. Even MSU has barely beaten Western Michigan but shows up with a high ranking. The system is rigged to produce one team from the top four conferences in the bowl series every year. But at least one of those teams does not belong near the top ten.
If Penn State, Wisconsin, Bama and Georgia all win out to their Conference Championship Games, that will be the final four, yep, only two conferences represented. Unless, that is, the Conference Championship games are blowouts.
Florida State’s suck extends well beyond the state of Florida.
Penn State or Wisconsin both can’t be their their Conference Champion.
FSU put all of their eggs in one basket of a quarterback, he got hurt and there was no place else to go.
The Gators became their own worst enemy in that what is it, 9 of their first string players were suspended indefinitely for what is essentially a new age check kiting scheme using their scholarship credit cards to buy books and then sell them for cash. More key players were also either suspended or ended up injured and not able to play for the year.
A great deal needs to be cleaned up in Gainesville. McElwaine inherited an absolute mess from Muschamp and to a certain degree from Meyer. Is it the coaches or is it more a problem from the Alumni groups exercising their trumping discipline for win at any cost?
But they can meet in the Conference Championship Game, and the loser of that game, could still wind up in the Top Four, especially if the game is close.
Oh boy...in 2 weeks I believe, UConn will be hosting BC in football at Fenway Park. UConn will be playing two good teams in the next few weeks..USF and BC....both at home (Even if BC is playing in Boston).
After FSU allowed Jamis Winston to skate on all his run-ins with the law I’ve dropped them from my ‘yea’ list.
Hoping Penn State hands another criminal breeding ground a thrashing today.
Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin are all likely playing each other. There is the playoff game. But the big 12 sucks. Maybe Oklahoma or TCU are OK but its hard to tell. The Pac 12 sucks. So you have the ACC where Clemson gets killed by Syracues. I expect that the big ten and the SEC will both throw a team in the final four. With the Big 12 and the ACC getting a very mediocre team in there too. The Pac 12 can’t even get in there by cheating.
Watch when an ACC team or a Big 12 team loses they won’t drop very far. But if Memphis or ND loses one more they are gone.
Phil Steele’s preseason College Football mag had FSU at #3 and a potential title contender.
That makes Notre Dame’s trouncing of the Eagles that much more impressive.
Wisconsin has the easiest schedule in the entire Big 10. They do not play eithe Ohio State or Penn State, unless and until they get to the playoffs. The Badger schedule is the biggest joke in major college football.
Our problems at FSU are much deeper than a hurt quarterback, but Jimbo is happy to hear that there are people out there who believe that line of BS. This team has been on a downhill trajectory since the 2013 BCS Championship game. This year the dam finally broke and everyone can now see that it had been patched with spackle at key structural points.
Gators to FSU, “Welcome to our world”.
Word is, McElwain is on the way out. He may even be gone after today’s game, and Spurrier will be interim HBC.
Looks like Arky will be looking for a new coach, soon.
