Football Night in America crew implores Texans to sign Colin Kaepernick
Houston Chronicle ^ | 11-6-2017 | Matt Wyatt

Prior to the Sunday Night Football game against the Raiders and Dolphins, the Football Night in America crew on NBC discussed the Texans' sputtering situation at quarterback, with a couple analysts making the suggestion the team should pick up Colin Kaepernick.

With Deshaun Watson lost for the season due to a torn ACL, analysts Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison called for the Texans to pick up Kaepernick, who has not played in an NFL game since Jan. 1 with the 49ers and has been the subject of controversy due to his decision to protest the national anthem as a response to police brutality toward people of color.

"Sign Colin Kaepernick. You don't have good quarterback play. When you have a mobile quarterback, your offense looks different. There is a mobile quarterback out there to get," Dungy said.

The analysts indicated that the Texans' offense cannot be successful with a traditional pocket passer like Tom Savage at the helm.

"I agree with you. As a player, I would lose all respect for my coaches and my organization if there was a guy out there that actually started a Super Bowl that is better than the guy that we have. How do you have confidence in your coach? How can you trust what your coach is trying to sell, the system that he is trying to sell, when he is not doing everything in his power to win football games?" Harrison added.

Kaepernick won three of this last 19 starts. What exactly do these clowns think is his saving grace... or is it to make a “we care” statement?

The Sunday night crew was impossible to watch before all this kneeling nonsense started.

“Is the jerk even in physical condition to play any more?”

Ask his BLM manager/gf. She writes his script.

5 police officers in Texas were murdered by Kaepernik’s buddies, and the Texans owner is the one who doesn’t want inmates running the asylum. So, I’d bet against it.

> Threaten to not play if he doesn’t do it?

That would explain the Falcons. They just forgot the part about making the threat public so fans aren’t aware of what’s been going on. They probably told Blank during super bowl halftime last year /sarc

Not a chance. Most football people "in the know" want to see Kaepernick demonstrate he could pick up any playing calling system quickly--something he hasn't done on Twitter and Instagram.

Seriously, who wants to sign the guy who is chiefly responsible for the NFL losing about 35% of their audience? So far.

Especially in a market like Texas where cop hating and black racial supremacy doesn't play too well? Seriously?

I would rather hire a quarterback from a regional high school. Who needs the baggage?

How about hiring new SNF announcers? This bunch is more interested in becoming agents for a failed anti-American quarterback than doing their job.

If true, the Texans will never be able to fire the Kap.
They will be giving him a lifetime contract.

Wrong Owner Robert McNair will never hire him

NBC better worry about ratings as I see last night game got the lowest ratings this Year.

NFL is a Business not a Social experiment

They speak entirely by scripted, producer prompted, teleprompters and cue cards. Look what happened last time Al Michaels went off script. An earpiece in every ear. A written set of cue cards down on those live sidelines babe updates just off to the side of the camera. The whole mess is an overproduced nightmare.

Their argument would apply to Johnny Manziel and RG3, too, if all they want is a mobile QB. Manziel won as many games as Krappy the last two years. RG3 is pretty much the same style of play. No one picking up either of them. Collusion!
