If Roy Moore was guilty as charged, I'd still support him because.... (VANITY)

IF (Big IF) Judge Roy Moore was guilty; if he came out today and announced every charge against him was true, I'd still support him and vote for him if I lived in Alabama. Here's why.

1. His record of a conservative politician is outstanding. His many years of service to the State of Alabama far outweighs any stupid actions he may have committed nearly 40 years ago.

2. His past sexual antics pale in comparison to the actual perversions of the average democrat. In a world where Joe Biden, both Bill and Hillary, Bob Menendez (just to name a few current sleazy democrats) get away currently with far greater creepy activites, why not forgive Moore and support him?

3. I would support Moore just to piss off the RINO's who orchestrated and coordinated this smear campaign against Judge Moore. Losers like Mitch McConnell should not get away with this.

Except you can’t really tell how much additional evil he will do vs what the supposedly known evil will. In this instance, I think the D is probably an like the southern democrats of the 70’s and 80’s. They guys who are now republicans.

You need to buy yourself a clue. Jones supports abortion. Here is Alabama, we believe abortion is defined as a mother soliciting for the murder of her child. We don’t elect politicians who support abortion. Moore can win on that ALONE. But he brings so much more (”Moore”) to the table. He pisses off all the right people, including meddlesome Yankees, Demonrats, GOPe Republicans, Deep Staters, media liars, and so many more.

Which is why I don’t support him dropping out. I’m just explaining that we made so much noise about character mattering and when push comes to pull, it really doesn’t.

People like YOU are why I don’t travel to Yankeeland anymore.

Yankee here. Born in Ohio, raised in Pennsylvania, lived in Michigan. Please don't judge us all by that jerk.

Didn’t I tell you to leave the thread?

Didn’t you get flamed by a dozen other FReepers for your ignorance.

I see you’ve gone on to another thread and are keeping up the lies about Moore and prepubescent children.

You do know by now that is what pedophilia means, right? So. Here you still are claiming that Moore has the hots for little girls. 8 and 10 year old girls.

You’re a creep and a jerk. Eff off loser.

If I were to put myself into the mind of an early 30something professional in rural Alabama in 1977, I'd be thinking the following:

If I were to put myself into the mind of a parent of a 17-year-old girl in rural Alabama in 1977, I'd be thinking the following:

As it turned out, Roy Moore's wife is 14 years younger than he is. They married in 1985 when she was 24 and he was 38. He knew what he was looking for, and he found it.

I'm laying out a reason why there might be a pattern, but that the pattern is not a predation. Today, his opponents are trying to ex post facto criminalize his courting.

If he did something criminal that is one thing, but if he did some things that would appear questionable today, that is a different issue.

He should be elected for what he is today, not looking back at events that occurred 40 years ago!

This is a good analysis. The 14 year old is not credible IMHO, nor is the ‘locked me in the car’ (how in 1977?) with the probably forged Christmas yearbook.

Troll.

Roman Polanski drugged and raped a 13-year old then fled the country.

Woody Allen romanced and married his stepdaughter. Creepy by the close resemblance to incest, as well as by age.

Roy Moore dated teenage girls when their mothers knew about it, didn't go beyond kissing, and backed off when they said "No."

The one who claimed to be 14 has been refuted on all fronts:

Someone else from that town, claimed the girl dated her brother 3 years before -- the accuser would have been 11.

Her mother contradicted her having a phone in her room: backed up by history. Most people didn't have phones in a child's bedroom in the 70s, they were too expensive.

Her story of being locked in the car falls apart too: they didn't make locks which couldn't be opened from the passenger side till later.

Her own stepson disbelieves her.

The ink in the yearbook is 2 different colors; the handwriting doesn't match; the signature is of DA instead of his job, "Deputy DA"; yearbooks generally don't get released near Christmas; people don't ask their sexual assailant to sign their yearbook; Moore has hired a law firm to sue one of the Alabama news outlets promoting the stories; the accuser called Roy Moore "Ray" during the press conference; Roy Moore has been under the spotlight on a national level before and none of these stories came out then; the Washington Post has been caught on tape offering money for people with dirt on Moore; the accuser has made false accusations before; the accuser is thrice divorced and has had financial troubles, giving her incentive to come up with a story for money.

So you're completely wrong.

Thanks. I see now that I meant to put the word "quickly" on the fourth bullet instead of the second bullet.

Oh, well. Next time.

IF (Big IF)...

That is the whole thing in a nutshell to me.

IF I were an Alabama voter 'IF' would not keep me from voting for him.
Especially in light of when this big 'IF' appeared and who came up with it.

So the best means available to you is lying.

What does that tell you about the viability of your political beliefs?

If Moore as a 32 year old actually had sexual contact with a 14 year old, there's no way I'd ever support him or cast a vote for him. Politics is not worth casting aside morality.

A few years ago, I was speaking of my father and his war record and mentioned He was 31 and my mother was 14 when they married. FR blew up! He joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 and flew bottom turret gunner in a B-24. He received several medals with the top being a DFC with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. I still have the medals and the piece of flak he dug out of his parachute that is as big as a salt water sinker.

He came home and found my mother and asked my Grand Mother for her hand. She said yes due to my mothers siblings pretty much doing wrong things at the time. They married and my sister was born 3 years later and I was 3 years after that. They lived happily married for 57 years and dad passed away. I couldn't have had a more wonderful life with mom and dad. My father was a hero and literally the stuff this country is made of. My mother was smarter than many kids today in college with her 8th grade education. They were self employed their whole life and mom always ran the business.

Having said all this, It's just hard for me to say every man looking for a young woman is a pervert. I was 19 and my wife was 16 when we met. People tell me today I robbed the cradle. That was 46 years ago.

I am going with not guilty.

This whole movement recently of people accusing others of sexual harassment is frightening. I am afraid that too many people are going to get away with making accusations for normal, human interactions (joking around where all parties are participating, but only the high profile man is “guilty”).

I was harassed by a landlord one time and my response: I moved.

My argument # 2 is weak, I admit that.

No, it's not weak.

It's morally repulsive and reprehensible.

If you truly believe what you say, you're no better than those who'd falsely hurl such an allegation.

Moore couldn’t possibly do as much injury to the American people as McCain, McConell, schumer and reid have done.

Is Roy Moore even accused of a crime? Is he? So far, all I’ve seen is accusations that he flirted with young girls or pinched a fanny. If that is the case, I don’t give a damn. I don’t care if he asked out a 15-year old last week. I would still put him in office. It is not because I have no moral principles. It is because I recognize that left-wing nutbags are trying to turn non-criminal behaviors into crimes against humanity, unless their guy commits it, in order to control all the rest of us, and cheat to win elections.

A 30-year old asked out a 17-year old 30+ years ago? Oh no! Whatever will we do? Nevermind that this was considered absolutely normal behavior for, well, forever before this election. Nevermind that Democrats like Bill Clinton actually forcefully raped people, or killed people like Ted Kennedy, or ran houses of male prostitution on their property like Barney Frank. Nope, it is a healthy male courting a teenage girl that needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

These nutbags can go straight to hell, and a man like Roy Moore will help them get on their way.
