Full Title: Mum claims 'Wi-Fi allergy' killed her daughter and says wireless internet should be removed from all schools
A mum who claims a Wi-Fi allergy drove her teenage daughter to suicide is among the campaigners to hold a talk in Stroud about the dangers of radiation from wireless devices.
In 2015, Debbie Fry's daughter Jenny was found dead aged 15 in woodland near her home in the Cotswolds.
Mrs Fry claimed at her daughter's inquest that Jenny's life was made a misery as she had electro-hypersensitivity - which meant she suffered from headaches, tiredness and bladder problems after being exposed to wireless connections at her School.
The coroner recorded a narrative verdict on the cause of Jenny's death and did not include factors relating to EHS as there were no medical proof she suffered from it.
But Mrs Fry is now on a mission to remove Wi-Fi from all schools and will be among the speakers at a public health talk in Stroud on Sunday.
Mrs Fry will be joined by campaigner Alan Cooke, who will warn of the health risks of mobile phones, smart meters, masts and Wi-Fi devices, at the event at the Open House in Gloucester Street on Sunday October 8 from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
The NHS says it's unlikely mobile phones or wireless devices increase the risks of health problems.
But Mrs Fry is fighting Government plans to introduce Wi-Fi to the whole of the NHS.
She said: "They are planning to put in something that makes the sick, sicker.
"There's some urgency to which the whole of the UK's population needs to be told this technology is not as safe as we are led to believe."
Mr Cooke claims radiation emitted from these devices damages cells within our body, potentially leading to diseases such as cancer and brain tumours.
He said: "Anything that is wireless will emit microwave radiation - that's a fact. If you are receiving that over a period of time your cells will not repair - they will cause diseases.
"It's not just me saying it - it's top independent scientists and doctors. It's not something the Government wants to tell people about."
In May 2016 businessman Ian Phillips died after a tumour the size of a lemon was found in his brain. Before he died he claimed his brain cancer began as he was using his mobile phone for six hours a day.
The NHS says the only known effects of radio waves on the human body are very small rises in temperature - comparable to rises during exercise.
But Mr Cooke still has concerns and says many phone companies tell customers in small print to hold their devices away from their bodies.
"With smoking, the Government denied it until they couldn't deny it any longer. It was the same thing with asbestos.
"This is bigger - this is the next weapon."
Mr Cooke says people should consider turning wireless devices off where possible and use speakers or airtube headsets while making mobile phone calls.
Is there really a danger from phones and wi-fi?
The NHS Choices website says: "Research suggests it's unlikely that mobile phones or base stations increase the risk of health problems. There's still some uncertainty about the potential for risks from long-term use over decades, and research on this is ongoing.
"Radio waves produced by mobile phones transmit in all directions to find the nearest base station. This means that some of the radio waves are directed at your body when you use a mobile phone. Radio waves are absorbed into your body tissue as energy, which adds to the energy being produced by your body's metabolism.
"Concerns have been raised that exposure to radio wave radiation might cause various health problems, ranging from cancer and infertility to non-specific but unpleasant symptoms.
"However, the only known effect of radio waves on the human body is a very small rise in temperature of up to 0.2C. This is comparable to natural increases in temperature, such as during exercise, and doesn't pose a known risk to health."
My Father and I were writing a book on this subject some years ago.
There are a few radiation sources which have been pretty well shown to be problematical in their own, individual rights....
1. cell phones (especially if you hold it close to your head for long while transmitting), and
2. microwave food ovens (can emit some quite intense radiation sometimes) and
3. if you sit too close and long to your boobtoob (TV).
like the dozen cell signals at your hotel room, just for starters, also automobiles are now emitting radiative signals (to communicate with cell towers, satellites, roadside transponders, and as radar signals to bounce off objects etc etc etc)
when i drive past the local shopping center, there are about 20 detectable signals sometimes just right there... some appear to be connected with burglar alarm systems, some are cell type signals, some are radar, the rest i am unsure...
could they all add up to no health impact? possibly, but it does not stand to reason that they would
And her reason
Sorry folks, but if you’re allergic to Wi-Fi, you ain’t gonna make it.
Microwaves and xrays were probably less plentiful a 100 years ago. And communications EM spectrums were non-existent 100 years ago. Cell phones (wifi and telecom) — nada 15 years ago. And 60HZ/AC, non-existent 100 years ago. More intense magnetic fields from the gadgets?
What does all of this stuff do to us? Don't know.
“My cousin died of Brain cancer about 10 years ago she was a Switchboard operator”
My mother died of a brain tumor at age 87. She was a rural housewife and mother with six children.

And for some reason McCain is still alive.
PBBTH.
Better Call Saul!
Un-true. Ionizing radiation is capable of damaging DNA but radiation below the lower UV spectrum is non ionizing.
I would say this lady is bananas but, they can be radioactive insofar as they have Potassium 40 (~0.01%). They probably have a greater likelihood of hurting you than cell phones or wifi. Kitty liter and granite counter tops can also emit ionizing radiation but also at extremely low levels. You would have to be surrounded by bananas to set off a Geiger counter.
Lightning has been around forever and it the source of a huge amount of EM radiation across a large swath of spectrum.
Its a good idea if you have a Wi-Fi router to dial down the transmit power as much as you can.
Not just for health benefits of lowering the Radio Wave Saturation but to limit the amount of neighbors it is visible to.
Usually you can do this from the wi-fi router web configuration page.
non-ionizing radiation still cannot be ruled out as having health impacts
there have been a couple ‘no damage’ claims including from WHO for cellphones, for instance, but we have a number of studies indicating potential harm, especially when phone is held close and long... and almost nobody exercises even the simplest of precautions, you see people walking into cement walls (I have!) with their cellphones right up to their heads)
TV’s are better now but TV and microwave machines often emit very strong emf.... again, simple precautions like testing yours, noting if the radiation is largely directional as if often is, and then sitting out of that path and definitely not right up glued close to the boobtoob like some parents let their kids do
and so forth. My point is not that a little exposure to, especially, non-UV and non-X radiations...are gonna kill ya.
they aren’t . my concern is the profound proliferation of radiation signals of almost all wavelengths, immersing us almost 24/7...... this is a condition that has never existed before and obviously it has not been fully studied yet.
SO, a reasonable person may wish to just try to minimize exposure is all i am saying. So far, I have not buried myself in a mineshaft (which of course, depending on the minerals, may itself radiate!) smile smile smile
Interesting. ESD is fairly low frequency. Filtering it is around 400KHz conducted.
Of course, lightning is much more intense but the same idea.
While one can always say that more study is needed, I suspect that quite a bit of study has already been done. The problem is always when studies yield information that no one wants to hear....the study of what constitutes dangerous EMR levels definitely falls into that category. One of the things that I meant to do a few years ago was buy a decent EMR meter
. this discussion is reminding me that I really should do that so that I collect some of my own research data. If you have a recommendation on a decent meter, Id be interested to hear what you have to say.
Sounds like a great idea. Should be fun too . ( sorry I havent a good rec on that ).
I’m just going off general cdc and other medical statistics as I recollect them.
I always liked Peter O’Tooles quote:
“I take exercise by walking behind the coffins of my friends who took exercise.”
Another O’Toole quote.
“I can’t stand light. I hate weather. My idea of heaven is moving from one smoke-filled room to another.”
He died young,though-—Age 81. :-)

The bane of our existence in the Minuteman missile field where I was. Darned thunderstorms making us periodically losing our radio data transmissions to our missiles created havoc and was a real headache if one of our capsules was down.
