So far, I got some 40% off canvas tote bags for hauling groceries. My big purchases will be Monday.
Thank you kindly for the good wishes!
Taking a drive up the coast. Not a soul on the road and saved time and a headache driving.
Took about half of the contents of our garage to the goodwill will right off thousands
500 sheet ream of multipurpose paper (copy, printing) @ Staples for 1 cent a ream (4 reams max). Gotta remember to send in the rebate, tho’... The store was almost deserted - I was in and out quickly.
12 markers / pack of “Sharpie” markers (including ultra fine pack option) for $1 also @ Staples. Gotta remember to send in the rebate, tho’...
46” / 5500 Lumen LED shoplights @ Menards for $15. The lumen rating seems a bit exaggerated, but not outrageously so. I bought 5, wish I’d bought 10.
5000 Lumen (claimed) 50 watt LED worklight, also @ Menards, for $20. IMO, this does NOT compete as claimed with a 350 watt halogen bulb, but, it seems close to a 250 watt bulb, and, it is certainly cheaper to operate, as well as a much lower fire / burn hazard. Damp location rated, too, and I suspect I can safely waterproof it for outdoor use. (It’s probably already fine for under an eave, and so on.)
$80 for a 4 TB external backup drive @ Best Buy. I missed getting this by seconds online (they ran out), went to local BB on the way to see Mom and literally got the last one in the display rack. :-)
My wife got a really nice, pretty coat for our daughter for (after all 3 discounts were applied!) $5(!) @ Kohl’s. No, it’s not a $100 “quality” coat, but, the stitching and so on looks good, and so far she’s grown out of every modest quality piece of clothing purchased for her B4 she wears it out.
Best of all, in a way, though it was a huge PITA (long story not told here, that had nothing to do with Black Friday shopping), was a purchase for a family friend: Staples ran some laptops at lower prices PRE-Black Friday than for Black Friday. So my wife’s friend now has via me a Dell laptop with a core i5 7200U processor, 256 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, DVD drive, fairly decent but not great 15.6” HD screen, a nice, full backlit keyboard, pretty much most of the other stuff one might expect at a $500-$600 “sale price” level laptop, and even decent sounding speakers (for a laptop). No, it’s not a screaming gaming machine, CAD machine, etc., but, it is a quick, solid machine that should be plenty capable for her business and general “household” use. It’s better than any laptop I’ve ever had!!! $480 B4 tax.
People say family first, and I agree, but I was still able to work everything in - in fact, it gave me a much needed diversion from Mom’s health problems. Tomorrow is church and then the rest of the day, family, too... BBQ chicken leg quarters for $.39/lb., on the grill - yum!!!
Rural King had some pretty good ammo deals too...
Who said anything about physically going to a store or a mall for Black Friday? I don't fancy the traffic, fighting for a parking space, the crowds or getting trampled over the last crockpot either. I did everything online, got my deals, let the UPS man bring it all home. I think I deserved a new microwave after using the same one for 30 years. It now cost me $14/roll to develop film, so I see I have to go DSLR for economy in the long run. I always wanted a spotting scope, and with the new camera it should be a formidable team. And my neighbor needed a mixer, as she had none. Why not buy her mixer at the best price of the year?
I'd been collecting BF ad scans for a couple of weeks, winnowing out what I wanted and the best price for it. I also asked my friends if they were looking for anything special in case I ran across a terrific deal. For me, it's all great fun getting the most for the least. I look at it as a challenge, a sort of big game hunting.
Turned off my debit cards, stayed home and slept in.
I had a doctor appointment. On the way home the better half insisted on stopping at Tuesday Morning. I found two Shannon crystal coffee mugs for $2.99 each. And they’re microwavable.
Let’s just say that this news put a big smile on my face:

203,000 weapons purchased over one weekend, enough to equip the entire French army, shooters, clerks, cooks, etc. 48k more the the UK army.
Enough to make our shoppers rank as the 24th largest army in the world.

America. Love it. ;>)
Bought a device that masks useless BS threads on FR
Ha ha!
I don’t do Black Friday. Ever.
Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday.
Whoever comes up with the future Wednesday designation wins a prize.
I don’t do Black Friday. Don’t do much shopping anyway but.....daughter came over Friday to eat pie and they had been to Target. She said no one was there. She spent $100 and said there was 1 person in line in front of her.
Taser is offering 35% off on its products.
Using the code AXONHOLIDAY, kicks the savings up to 85%.
For example, a Taser Bolt or Pulse has a full retail value of about $400. At 85% off, including shipping, it is about $150.
Hiked up a mountain. The view was free.
Stayed home so saved a bundle. Never even bothered to look at the advertisements.
Kohls has long been on my ban list for not removing a man from the women’s dressing room. Told them about him and they acted like I’d grown an extra head and did nothing about it. Sure, they have great clearance items but I won’t subject my daughter to a perv to get a bargain.
