Pop star Taylor Swift apparently struck a nerve with leftists and Internet trolls this week after she said she “couldn’t have asked for a better year” in 2017 and thanked her fans in a birthday Instagram post. “I love you guys so much,” Swift captioned a photo taken at a recent London concert. “I couldn’t have asked for a better year, all thanks to you. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Can’t wait to see what 28 will be like. See you on tour.”
That simple message was apparently too much for some Twitter users — and at least a few media outlets — who questioned how Swift could have a “great year” with all the tragedy occurring in the world, including the election of President Donald Trump.
“Is there anything more annoying than Taylor Swift talking about what a great year 2017 has been while everyone else is fighting for our lives under Trump?” wrote one Twitter user.
“I mean, yeah there were Nazi’s and and white supremacy marches, and families are being town apart, and there were mass shootings, and people are losing health care, but none of that affects me, so 2017 was great! [sic]” wrote another.
There was plenty of similar sentiment on Twitter.

Yep - their lives suck...so everyone else’s live have to suck. They are best ignored and denied the attention they crave (especially on that gutter named Twitter).
I started out the year with no job thanks to a corrupt company who saw an opportunity to steal 14 years worth of accumulated vacation with a BS excuse. I’m ending the year with a job that not only pays better but furnishes me with a private office with two computer screens rather than a cube with one.
380 million dollars buys a truckload of happiness.

So true, but some are more equal than others.
She doesn’t understand the victim narrative must be preserved at all costs.
She should have said, “Despite the Tragedy of Donald Trump being elected, things turned out good this year for me thankfully and I would like to thank all my fans for banding together in this trying time.”
2017 was a great year for me too. Quit a defense industry job after 25 years, took a 80% cut in pay to work at a 500 acre ranch/shooting range/ sporting clays facility 6 miles from my house in the East Mountains of New Mexico.
When are Leftists not angry?
I guess the leftist’s forgot all about the BLM/Antifa/Occupy violent riots, er, marches and employer’s (not theirs, since most of them don’t work) having to pay out of the nose for insurance coverage requirements.
