Obama inherited a great deal of money from his maternal Great grandfather when he was ten. It’s in a family trust. The Chicago house was purchased by the trust for investment. It’s deed is in he name of lawyer.

IMO the purpose of the book about his father was to keep people from knowing about his mothers family wealth obtained by writing leases for mineral rights.
