I was wondering why him and his son disappeared from the Gold Rush show for the last few years with not even a mention of him.

Couldn't stand Dakota Fred the first time round. I stopped watching Gold Rush after last season, and probably won't watch Bering Sea Gold next season...if there even is one. It gets tiresome watching stupid people do stupid stuff over and over again. Too much like Democrat stupidity.

Has Todd ever done an honest days work since the series has been on? His father is more of a man than he is. I thought the whole gold mining thing was to make money to survive...not turning it into a competition with another miner (Todd and Parker). The only one I liked on that whole series was Tony Beets. That might be because he was born in Holland like my father was, and appears to have worked hard for many years to get where he is. I'll stick with Swamp people which starts a new season February 1st. Great show...great people!!

Their was a show on for one year, and it is sad they canned it. It was “Fixing Alaska”, about a crew of heavy equipment guys ( one main star ) that fly all over via Bush / Sea Plane and had to bush fix heavy equipment w/ missing tools and improvise hoist to pull a bulldozer in half. I freakin’ loved that show, the ingenuity and get-er-done spirit was amazing. Fixing stuff (when they are not ham and egging it) and yes the pile of Gold is what I like about Gold Rush, these silly grudges competitions are not needed.

Never saw “Fixing Alaska.” I remember another series that was on the Discovery Channel for three seasons (2011-2013). It was called “Flying Wild Alaska.” It featured the Tweto family who ran the airline company Era Alaska. They eventually sold the company, but the show was excellent.

Lol! I got to see Ariel running around at the Oshkosh flyin' either before or after she got her license. I might have even said hello, ya good show!

Hadn’t heard about the Chase Landry warrant. Doesn’t he have a job somewhere, and only helps his father during gator season? On the show he seems to be a bit lacadaisical, with an “I’ll get there, when I get there” attitude. Can’t remember the Rivers guy.

Ariel is a pretty girl, but her flying made me cringe. It seemed she didn’t have her wits about her at times. I’m sure she’s matured a bit since the show.

I’d like to see an episode of an Alaska show highlighting the film crews, how they film and live.

Originally I liked Todd. Got to really dislike him and wish him misfortune. Sadly he will drag Dave (gone), Jim Thurber, Freddie Dodge with him.

He could have stayed in the Klondike , Alaska and made a bunch of money but being greedy he has frittered away money, time, etc. looking for ‘El Dorado’. And father Jack is a joke.
Parker Schnabel is turning into a little tyrant.
Tony Beets is pretty cool.
Liked the Dakota boys.

I love Tony he is the best. Todd is a lazy whipped by his wife and Parker is a millennial asshole.

Thanks for the post. Mr. RR is president of a prospecting club. He has about 350 members who come to events from about six different states. It is a very active club. He has visited with Dakota Fred several times and they have attended events together. Glad to hear Fred is back.

--having spent the productive part of my life in undergound and surface metal mining, I watch it to see how wrong it gets--

--I also find especially annoying the "race" to x number of ounces between two fools--

--agree that the only one I'd work for would be Tony Beets--

I’ve no experience in mining but I very suspicious that most of the things that go wrong are written into a script by the producers of this show. No one who is series about running an operation would allow these things to happen. Something breaks, no repair parts, lots of down time. People don’t do preventive maintenance. Just too stupid to be anything other than a script to bring a sense of drama into the show.
