Sorry, no sale. UNLV and Army are not major college football programs and they primarily play teams that are well below the Power 5. UNLV lost seven games. I'd like to see them play Troy and UL Monroe and some of the other secondary schools in the South.

The only thing all this whining about someone's schedule accomplishes is to show you up as a whiner. Bama schedules about the biggest names of any school for their opener each year, year after year.

And it's just plain silly to constantly whine because the SEC plays eight, rather than nine conference games each year. A ninth SEC game would, on average, make little difference in the strength of schedule, especially for the stronger teams in the conference.

UNLV plays in the same conference with Fresno State who they beat and which played Alabama this year, San Jose State (who Alabama has previously played), San Diego State (which beat Stanford this year), Utah State, Air Force, Nevada, New Mexico and BYU and Hawaii.

Mercer is not even in Division one football, which Alabama played. As is The Citadel, which Clemson played and Alabama will play next year. If you can’t even schedule a Division 1 opponent, you shouldn’t be playing the game.
