Terrifying moment a fisherman and his passengers frantically dive into the water just seconds before a speedboat crashes into their vessel
Marlin Lee Larsen's 31-foot motorboat plowed into Bryan Maess' 20-foot fishing boat near the mouth of the Columbia River, Oregon, on August 12
Video captured the moment Maess and his two passengers yelled at Larsen to stop as the boat bore down on them Trio were forced to dive into the icy water to escape being crushed
Larsen has since been charges with reckless endangerment and assault Police ruled out alcohol and drugs but a passenger on Maess' boat claims they saw Larsen on his cell phone Larsen claims he didn't see them because he was sitting down while driving
Maess has filed a $372,500 lawsuit against Larsen, saying he was injured and still wears a knee brace because of the incident

With global cooling around the corner, swimming anywhere will not be an option. Even at the equator.
I originally read this as " Police rushed out alcohol and drugs..."
I was like, FINALLY, some USEFUL cops.
...and he went overboard with his rod still in his hand...
That's a real fisherman!
You should try it in May...
(I was much younger then. ;)
The one guy had chest waders on, which is a drowning hazard. OMG!
Can’t recall it being that cold up there. Or was I just lucky enough to have an inland lake that was somehow warm (Millecoquins, near Naubinway/Engadine)?
Sounds just like David Byrne's Music From the Knee Plays, where he makes all kinds of outlandish and wildly contradictory predictions ... "In the future, water will be expensive."
Same here that video was real and destructive! At least they jumped long and lived before their boat was flattened. Instinct kicked in.
Anything below 78* is cold
David Byrne is a genius but after he did his salsa album the leader said it was a pathetic joke they just did it for the session money and that all the musicians derided Byrne as a fn fag.
Byrne was indeed a genius - peaked with "My life in the bush of Ghosts" - but when New Wave petered out he was high and dry. To colorize his total whitey guy image he pushed all that World Music stuff. So edgy.
It wasn't what many wanted to hear.
Sometimes real bright guys get a bit presumptuous. Like Jaco Pastorius - brilliant but he became a total tool.
Washington State police go on a hunt for a man with a rifle' What they uncovered is downright crazy
Police in Kirkland, Washington went on a hunt for a report of a suspicious man with a rifle. The uncovered the rifle, which turned out to be an umbrella. No, were not making this up.
A number of years ago a friend and his young son were passengers on a boat in Lake St. Clair (Michigan) when the driver, who was drinking, ran over another boat, killing the fisherman.............The owner got prison time......
Lake Huron, Killarney, 55 degrees in July.
I’ll never forget the first time I heard Once In A Lifetime. It wasn’t new, but it was back in the day. I was sitting in traffic in a March snow shower ... Once in a lifetime!
I get the humor, but Oregon is a shall issue conceal carry and class 3 legal state.
God’s honest truth.... The Hispanic leader for David Byrnes salsa sessions and album was disgusted by his pooftiness and said all the musicians felt the same and only did the sessions because Byrne was paying above the usual session rates
I might have read this is in RS mag back then. The account was hilarious and got me laughing
Gotta ask, “How poofty was he?”
( He was so poofty that ... he had to take off his loafers to stay on the ground. )
Had the same effect on me. So innovative. Such great art was created during the Ronald Reagan years and its not gonna happen again.
Remain in light David Byrne.
so poofty...lol and thanks
