The Worst President Ever? That Title Belongs to Woodrow Wilson.
The National Interest ^ | January 19,2018 | Robert W. Merry

First, Wilson conducted the war in ways that devastated the home front. Prices shot up into double digits, and then came a potent economic recession that lasted three years. He accepted the suppression of civil liberties by his notorious attorney general, A. Mitchell Palmer. His government nationalized many private industries, including the telegraph, telephone and railroad industries, along with the distribution of coal. Race riots erupted in numerous cities that claimed nearly 150 lives in two years.

Most of those surveys identify Warren G. Harding of Ohio as the worst ever. This is ridiculous. Harding presided over very robust economic times. Not only that, but he inherited a devastating economic recession when he was elected in 1920 and quickly turned bad times into good times, including a 14 percent GDP growth rate in 1922. Labor and racial unrest declined markedly during his watch. He led the country into no troublesome wars.

I agree that Harding is by no means the worst president ever. We need to elevate him in history before it is too late, which will be in 2023. That's when his family will allow the release of his personal papers that will shed light on his womanizing in and out of the White House. That his family insisted on holding the papers for a hundred years suggests no exoneration.

Nixon's tapes are available online, but Harding, evidently, isn't dead enough.

What Obama and Carter did to this country is apparent. The fact they aren't co-owners of the Worst Ever award is a tale of leftist historians. But as Wilson's story suggests, white wash doesn't last forever.

Wilson was a globalist disaster and personally responsible for the rise of Nazis and Communists

Lyndon Johnson may not have been the worst President ever, but he was probably the worst person.

Wilson was absolutely hands down the worst president in US history.

No. As bad as Wilson was, he never equaled the hatefulness of Obama. There is no doubt that as flawed as Wilson was, he loved his country.

Obama hates America and would see it destroyed. Obama would see America turned into a dark hell hole if he had his way.

Wilson was a pointy headed liberal academic. The first of a long line that have tried to follow Marx and Engels formula for international homicide. They walk among us.

That’s an overreach. Wilson’s belief that he was the smartest man in the room who would save humanity got whacked as the Allies easily marginalized him at Versailles.

The draconian peace terms that made Nazism and Hitler inevitable can be laid at the feet of France, not Wilson.

It’s been said that France deserved what the got in WII. And they’ve never forgiven us for liberating them.

Yes. Wilson was our first evil globalist. Encouraged lengthening of WWI which gave us nazi and communist tyranny as you point out. But it also set Western civilization on its path to suicide we see now.

WWI was like the Rwandan genocide but in a massive scale. Ultimately pointless except for the massive slaughter

Why did Wilson get the U.Sinto the war? To bail out the bankers who financed the British side of the war effort.
Wilson then created an entire department in the U.S. government to churn out propaganda to feed to the press to sell the war.

“In its crusade to “make the world safe for democracy,” the Wilson administration took immediate steps at home to curtail one of the pillars of democracy – press freedom – by implementing a plan to control, manipulate and censor all news coverage, on a scale never seen in U.S. history.”

Revisionism. Zero is the only one who broke into the cockpit and deliberately pushed the stick down towards the side of a mountain. Wilson, FDR whoever never rose to obunghole’s level of treachery.

During Wilson Presidency (or should I say Col House’s and his handler Samuel Untemaier) the United States started:

The Federal Reserve
The CFR (called the Inquiry at the time)
and Taxes.

No. Clinton, Carter, and Obama displaced Wilson, Harding, and Grant as America's worst Presidents, but Obama earned the dishonor of being America's worst President--by far.

He is the only President who hated the USA and tried to destroy it.

My opinion is that Obama was the worst as well as the worst man. Carter next. LBJ may have done the most harm. Clinton was right up there with Obama as far as being corrupt as a man and as a politician.

My Father hated Eisenhower from the time he was a combat veteran of WWII until he died. I don’t think he was that bad but he did appoint Earl Warren.

He loved his country so much, he allowed ocean liners full of its citizens to secretely transport arms, in hope that what? Their existence would turn back torpedoes?

He loved America so much he gave foreign bankers control over its currency?

I would rather someone who didn’t show us all that love.
