This products executive team - overly fearful of upsetting the black activists on ESPN - werent as careful about managing Kaepernick and the Kneelers they should have been, but they are betting that incident will go the way of New Coke in a year or so and all will be restored.
I think the NFL has a much bigger problem with verisimilitude, because as CTE patients keep piling up in the service of a sport that isnt even real public opinion is going to turn harder against the league than it already has.
If you watch the Patriots you might like still the USA - but you havent yet realized they are Hulk Hogan: the eternally victorious face of a carefully stage-managed commercial product. Their upcoming 35-30 Super Bowl win featuring another late 4th quarter drive by Tom Brady will complete this seasons script nicely.

It’s all staged. That must be why Goodell unfairly went after Brady a couple of years ago.
I find it interesting that the majority (8/10) of the SBs have been very close in the past 18 years or so, often within one score. Before, the 1999 Super Bowl, only one other Super Bowl was decided by less than one score.
In the 80s and 90s they were typically blowouts. I think the it is rigged. This Super Bowl will be too. Brady will probably “drive” in the last couple minutes getting key 3rd down conversions with ticky tacky penalty calls. Boring.
