Has President Trump succeeded in bringing Camelot to the White House?

Posted on 01/28/2018 10:24:45 AM PST by A Cyrenian

America is shining again. The Good Lord only knows where we would be if the liberals would get out of the way.

"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment, that was known as Camelot."

Here's to hoping things continue to get better.

Thank you President Trump and thank you America for electing him.

That is just a lovely thought. Not only can we wipe out Obama’s time in office, but we could wipe out the Kennedy fantasy. Oh, I LOVE IT!

Camelot is a leftist fantasy so let’s not compare this no holds barred, tell it like it is presidency to that fake standard.

With JFK it was more like Came-a-lot.

Sadly, about half the citizenry is unaware of his accomplishments. Or they are being indoctrinated with ‘anything good that happens now is because of the policies that Obama put in place’. I swear if FoxNews doesn’t stop using Marie Barf (who is CONSTANTLY crediting Obama with everything good that Trump has done), I will stop watching FoxNews, permanently.

Never understood the connection to Camelot. Was it because most Americans considered John and Jackie as royalty? Someone please explain it to me.

So true. He was such an overrated president because of his untimely demise, but honestly he was among the last “reasonable* Democrats before their party took the hard road left!

I’m not so sure JFK wouldn’t have gone far left, neither. Just look at how Bobby Kennedy changed before his assassination.

You might be right, but we’ll never know. Had JFK lived I wonder if he would have proposed a Great Society program in his second term. He was not as liberal on federal government spending as LBJ was.

Remember that JFK cut the tax rates because he knew it would put more dollars into the Federal Coffers, and thus, more money to fund his social schemes.

The Broadway musical “Camelot” opened in 1960, not long before Kennedy was elected President. His staff saw a PR opportunity in linking his new administration with Camelot, with JFK & Jackie as King Arthur & Guinevere.

IIRC, they went to NYC together to see Camelot. It was the “young, young world of the Kennedys” and the fantasy image of their White House (what was known) with the fantasy world of King Arthur’s court which were seen as a natural match.

When Kennedy was assassinated, the legend of the Camelot WH grew by leaps & bounds and overshadowed the many sins within for years to come. His brother RFK hinted that electing him in 1968 would bring back the golden years of Camelot.

That’s how I recall it, anyway.

Look at the kennedys vs the trump clan

Who is more like Camelot ?

Who earned the money legitimately ?

Which family has been cursed by G*d? Untimely Death and misfortune

Aren’t Maro Lago and Trump hotels regal?

Isn’t his wife (3rd I know but Marla and Ivana are also incredible ) regal ?

The beauty is he comes from construction so he is not some princely perfumed wuss like Barry wishes he was and acted like

It’s all quite hillarious really

One final note. Despite ruling the party for now 30 years the clintons are such trash from the south even the media couldn’t tag them as “royalty “

Even the real princes in England are joining the military and not acting like their wuss loser dad Chalie

Perhaps it's because the Kennedy White House was fraught with medieval-style intrigue.

One of JFK’s pals, (I don’t remember which one), had this quote once: “Jack would stick his dick in a cement mixer if he thought it would get him off”. OUCH!!!

No, President Trump prevented Obama’s dream of turning the White House into a camel lot.

The musical play Camelot debuted in 1960 and ran during the Kennedy era. After he was assassinated the myth of the Kennedy presidency being like Camelot developed to have America look back in admiration. Pure propaganda.

"Perhaps it's because the Kennedy White House was fraught with medieval-style intrigue."

May be due to his bigger than life persona. However, with all his faults, he stood down the Soviet Union with their placement of nuke missles just off our coast in Cuba. Doing drills under my desk during that timeframe, I will always be grateful for his strength and determination to NOT allow such a threat to America.

BTW, liberals at that time were not the socialists they've become.
