If that is correct, how did the slave state of Maryland preserve their slavery by fighting the slave state of Virginia?

How did the slave state of Kentucky preserve their slavery by fighting the slave state of Tennessee?

How did the slave state of Missouri preserve their slavery by fighting the slave state of Arkansas?

How did the slave state of Delaware preserve their slavery by fighting the slave state of North Carolina?

They retained their slaves until they ended slavery within their borders on their own. Or when it was ended once and for all by the 13th Amendment.

And we know the South rebelled in order to protect their institution of slavery because there are plenty of quotes from the Southern leaders of the time saying as much.
