Where is the outrage?

President Donald Trump reportedly endorsed a .25 cent gas tax hike to pay for his $200 billion infrastructure plan.

We pay enough gas taxes in California, thanks to Jerry Brown. WE WANT NO MORE GAS TAXES!

Gas taxes won't ‘doom’ his presidency... Look at all the liberals in California - paying taxes up the wazoo and they keep re-electing democrats.

Too bad Trump can't JUST raise the gas tax but only in California, New York and Illinois... by two or three bucks a gallon. Those folks are already used to being tax slaves and they keep voting greedy liberals into office.

I never heard him say he’d never raise taxes.

.25 cent?

Gee, 1/4 of 1 cent gas tax? I can get on board with that. Or do you mean 25 cents?

Lots of concern trolls going nuts over this - with no understanding of the actual dynamics of could/might/would and how it might even be a positive move for bringing costs under control and relieving the income tax burdens many have been paying (both Federal and many States) only to have it thrown away or funneled into Dem coffers.

All they know is "he might back a tax - which has only been bandied about in the LSM and there is zero real evidence at this time - but what the hey - it's something to be "concerned" about and a reason for acting all tough and uber-conservative - by many who donate zero to any good cause because that's the job for idiots, and them concern troll idiots just ain't idiots like those of us who actually invest ourselves in worthwhile causes.....

Get a grip and try to realize the treasure we have in President Trump - else Y'all sound just like the Dems as they tell us how terrible things always are...

I would rather see fee increases tied to specific uses rather than peanut-buttered over everyone. For example, toll roads or bridges are paid for by those who use them. If you don’t want to pay the toll, use alternative routes. I am happy to pay an annual fee for camping, boat, bike trail access, etc IF there is 100% assurance and audit proof that it is used for those purposes ONLY and not subject to account sweeps by the state to go into the general revenue rathole. Fee for service.

This is a separate infrastructure bill that will come out before the midterms... and the states always pile on an increase and claim it was all do to the fed tax. Believe me, gas will go to $3 instantly most everywhere. And, it is being talked up by republicans... dumb... dumb.

Conservatives will accept an infrastructure program provided
its cost is offset by a cut in spending
Republican elite will accept an infrastructure program provided it is offset by an increase in taxes.
Democrats want an infrastructure program provided it is not paid for

Colorado has one of the lowest gas tax rates in the nation.

And, you're not figuring in city taxes.

Even if the actual number is a third or fourth of the price of a gallon, it's an obscenely high percentage already given all the money Congress wastes.

When is Congress going to pay its fair share?

It's also a regressive tax at a time when the government is collecting a record amount of revenue.

Your reading skills are as poor as your math skills.

.25 cents is not 25 cents.

“Maybe that 25 cents doesn’t look that bad to the rest of us.”

I’m in Arizona and it looks bad to me!

It's 25 cents, not 1/4 of cent. And, that more than doubles the existing Federal tax.

What kind of conservative supports that when tax revenue is at an all-time high?

I remember when gas was 32 cents a gallon, back in the 1950s, before Leftists succeeded, as much as they have, in destroying America.

I’m fine with it, IF, the money is only used for highways (that means legislative changes) and if this toll road crap ends.

I’d much rather pay an extra $250 for my gasoline each year (25 MPG, 25,000 miles), then pay the $3000 or so it will cost if Trump manages to privatize our highways.

Hey, I’ve got a BETTER plan: How ‘bout we get Fedzilla’s hand out of the till and out of the infrastructure biz ALL together.

State’s can set, and keep, *ALL* their taxes and pay for the roads/bridges/etc. THEY deem are needed/necessary?

Two or more States can collaborate for interstate needs, each pay their own way and, say, FL residents could care less that AK is building another bridge to nowhere.

Can you show us where President Trump agreed to consider a 25 cent gas tax per gal.?

MEDIA is reporting it was reportedly said he would support that..until he comes before the American people and says...

“I will recommend to Congress a 25 cent per gal tax on gas/fuel....”

then maybe I will believe he said that, NOT UNTIL THEN...COMPLETE MEDIA MADE UP B.S. AND FAIRY TALE...their typical practice now...

I stand by my comment, dumbass. Go back and read the thread. I wasn’t commenting on the facts of the matter, only on your inability to read and comprehend the post to which you responded. The poster wrote that 1/4 of one cent was no big deal. To which you responded, it is a big deal.

Try a little remedial reading and math. And then shove it...
