Lauren Gibbs, a brakeman for the U.S. women's bobsled team at this month's Pyeongchang Olympic Winter Games, proved Sunday that not everything has to be consumed by political ideologies. She, along with several other athletes, were greeted by First Daughter Ivanka Trump and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders ahead of the Games' closing ceremony. There were no protests or chants, just goodwill and a fun selfie session.
While she may differ politically from her new friends, their meeting was all smiles.

At one point, Gibbs even let Ivanka try on her silver medal, which she won with her bobsled partner Elana Meyers Taylor last week.

Figure skater Adam Rippon's Olympic experience, meanwhile, seemed to be nothing but politics. Rippon, who is openly gay, infamously criticized Vice President Mike Pence for his traditional views on marriage. Asked if he'd meet with him at the Games, Rippon declined and said it would be against everything he believes in.
Despite his very public remarks about the VP, Rippon said he didn't want his Olympics to be all about Mike Pence.
Another openly gay Olympian, Gus Kenworthy, told the press he would refuse to go to the Trump White House if invited. Oh, and he had this classy remark for the First Daughter when she arrived in Pyeongchang for the closing celebration.

Political drama aside, the U.S. managed to amass 23 medals, coming in fourth place among the competing nations.

That’s outrageous, I don’t follow skating so I didn’t realize that Rippon qualified by some politically correct shenanigans. “GAYmes” indeed.....
For all the attention he got, he did not medal individually and only got in on a team bronze medal because his teammates were better than him. What a sick joke.
So who was the guy who got bumped by the committee??? I’ll bet he was steaming, and isn’t allowed to make a fuss because the Gay Mafia would go crazy if someone dared to question the improper advancement of the GAYmes.
Found this article on the qualifying process, but it doesn’t say much beyond the fact that bumping up Rippon after he finished 4th in the Nationals was “controversial”....

Mature adults can have civil interactions with people whom they may disagree with.
Most Democrats are not mature adults.
It sickens me that these gays act like pure idiots. I have a few gay friends, both guys and gals, and they never act like that. I never knew either of them were gay until they introduced me to their respective significant others.
What is wrong with these homosexual athletes? Trump has not lifted A FINGER to stop them from marrying each other or enjoying any other of their rights. He has simply stood up for the rights of Christians. I guess that is the unpardonable sin to them.
I used to live and work in DC and had a lot of gay friends until there was “gay marriage” and a prerequisite litmus test regarding a position on such matters; I’m a practicing Roman Catholic. Agree or disagree with a person’s lifestyle, I would never let a person’s sexual orientation exclude them from being a friend. I don’t need friends who require me to compromise my faith.
Fourth place sucks and so does the once watchable and maybe relevant Olympics. Anyway, WTF exactly is so polarizing and differing with the President and Mrs. Trump? I have NEVER hear one cogent example nor one why the last SOB Kenyan Usurper had any right to be pResident let alone qualified for ANY real job that would do a simple reference check.
He believes in butt secks. That is the beginning and end of his agenda.
He's not exactly upholding virtue.
