Heather Locklear Arrested for Domestic Violence

The incident occurred Sunday night. Deputies responded to a home in Thousand Oaks, CA ... someone reported domestic violence.

According to the 911 call, Heather's brother came to her home and saw Heather and her boyfriend fighting. The brother called 911. We're told cops observed that the boyfriend had a visible mark.

Law enforcement sources tell us when cops tried putting Heather in custody she became combative, flailing, kicking and struck 3 deputies. Heather was cuffed and taken to the hospital for evaluation.

I don't know the circumstances of your friend's case but I've heard many stories of people who were objectively not bad guys (like, for example, cases where the cops went to the wrong house) that ended with a beating. The result is that my instinct to trust and admire law enforcement has become tempered with a healthy cynicism. Turns out they are human. Some are great and noble, others are regular guys just doing a job, and some are drunk with power and ready to prove it.

If there's video it would reveal the tale. Was she truly causing a danger to herself or the officers? Or are they using some technicality to show her who's boss? If there's no video it'll be hard to ever know.

Nothing has changed in Hollywood.
Women have to do their nude scenes or photoshoots to get noticed. I remember the actress Nancy Travis who played Tim Allens wife comment about her movies where she said she did her nude scene when she was young and now that she is older she does not have to worry about doing another.

You would do well to apply this logic to any group of people.....There is alway the exception to the rule. In the Marine corps they called it the ten percent rule!!!

I do apply it to everyone. Actually I go into every encounter judging a person neutrally (as much as I can) in spite of what others may have said. If I observer undesirable behavior, I shift my assessment accordingly. But I try to keep an open mind and judge others based on what I observe, not what I hear or read.

There are a few groups, however, that I was raise to reflectively assume the best of. The priests (that went out the window...), cops (that's moved from "always right" to "check the facts before you decide") and the military (which is pretty much holding strong at "unless you prove they are bad eggs I give them the benefit of the doubt". When I was a kid, teachers were in that bucket but it's different when you're a parent.

The other exception is democrat politicians. They are always assumed to be bad; liars who want to steal liberty and probably corrupt to boot. Maybe some day one will impress me and show me that there are exceptions. So far it hasn't happened since Zell Miller retired. Joe Manchin doesn't cut it, he strikes me as a phony who will say / do anything to keep his seat. Can't think of anyone else who I'd even consider giving a second look at.

Sure. Most cops are decent folks, doing a crappy job.

And most of them exercise common sense restraint.
