Anti-NRA Activists Should Be Careful What They Wish For
Bearing Arms ^ | 3 Mar, 2018 | Tom Knighton

Right now, the National Rifle Association is under fire. The largest gun rights organization is being blasted over something it had nothing to do with. After all, the shooter in Parkland, Florida wasn’t an NRA member. The NRA didn’t put the gun in his hands or the evil in his mind. The NRA didn’t keep the deputies outside the school as the carnage was taking place.

But the NRA is getting blamed for it.

Anti-gun crusaders have been going after the NRA for years, but now they’re really working toward trying to destroy the organization. They want to see the NRA destroyed. They believe that the NRA’s death will open the floodgates and allow any manner of gun control to pass through Congress.

They should be careful what they wish for.

You see, while many of us are NRA members, there are more than a handful of gun rights activists who take serious issue with the NRA. The problem? The NRA is far too willing to subvert our rights in exchange for political capital.

For example, take the NRA’s response to Las Vegas and bump stocks.

The NRA was willing to deal on bump stocks. From a political standpoint, that’s smart. You can deal with bump stocks–something few of us really fool around with–and get something we all want like, say, national reciprocity. There’s a case to be made for that.

But on the flip side, it’s giving up something we already have for something we should have already had. It’s giving ground to the anti-gun hystericals who are convinced the sky is falling

The totalitarian, anti-gun left is far more dangerous than guns. Around 100-150 million that they have killed in the last century would agree.

I’m the NRA, and I vote. And I buy things. Or not!

The NRA protects the anti-gun morons much more than it protects it’s members or other gun owners. You see, if the NRA disappeared and all kinds of anti-gun laws were passed, culminating in a confiscation order, the antis would be slaughtered in large numbers in the ensuing “games.”

The right to keep and bear arms will not be subverted without a costly response.

The silver lining, I guess...

I’m not concerned at all. If the NRA bids us all farewell, another organization will just take its place, like Gun Owners of America or Second Amendment Foundation.

Yes, but if anything ever went to hell here, you can bet they’d come hiding behind the gun owners they despise. I have a friend that I worked with for three years who has been posting anti gun propaganda (he’s a ‘good’ democrat), he knows that every day that ends in Y I was carrying, which was accepted by the business owner and actually encouraged. I put it to him bluntly, if an enraged customer came in with a gun would he
1. call the cops
2. cower under his desk and wait to get shot
3. call for me (the gun guy) to save his ass

You guess the response

I am amazed by the pride that the left feel with being helpless and vulnerable.

His response was as expected, it wasn’t cower or call 911. As he said, he trusted my use of a firearm. He’s still a Lib though.

Libs can hold mutually exclusive ideas at the same time and not even notice the contradiction.

I’ve made it clear to all anti-gun “friends” and acquaintances who know I have guns, that I carry for protection of self, family, and loved ones...

That given their anti-2nd Amendment and self defense attitudes, they should not look to me for protection if attacked...Or come crying to me looking for help or safe haven when/if the SHTF...

You’re on your own, baby...I will not lift a finger to come to your aid with my firearm, given your stance on same...I’ll stand down as you are raped and/or murdered, as I use my gun to make safe egress from the trouble...

The hypocrisy of their reactions is stunning...
