I found a source that also points out that the German language underwent a modernization in spelling around this time and that Hitler used to be Hiedtler just a generation or so before. This makers tracing the family tree more difficult.

There seems to be a lot on Margarethe Berta "Gretl" Braun. I don't know what to make of it. I have to leave it. I spent to much time on it. I think there is a lot of miss information I can't weed out
