Why not eliminate all nudity and sex scenes?

One point of view is that the customers want to see nudity and sex scenes. However, some of the interviews regarding Weinstein and others have said that the producer or director demanded the nudity and sex scenes.

“the producer or director demanded the nudity and sex scenes”

This has the ring of truth to it. Where is there any evidence the public demands it. I think that is BS.

Actually we got along just fine without the overt sex scenes back until 1968 when in the anti-violence hysteria, movie companies said they would “police themselves” with a joke of a ratings system. After that they reshot scenes to add blood and guts along with lots of total nudity to grab the coveted “R” rating.

Soon movie posters were proclaiming their movie was ...”SO BOLD IT HAD TO BE RATED “XXX”!

There always were sex scenes in movies, they were relegated to X Rated and shown at “Art Theaters!”

Nudity and sex sell but so do wholesome movies without it. Witness just how many folks stay home today compared to a few decades ago.

I used to go to 3 - 4 movies each week; now, if I can find that many worth my time in a year, I’m lucky.

My desire for movies haven’t changed, movies have!
