I was recently walking through the hall of a Minnesota Elementary School and the walls we're all filled with huge pictures and quotes of Muslim women, Or Hispanic labor leaders.
I of course was not happy to see the propaganda. But I was wondering who it would be good to have instead.
So in your opinion, excluding presidents, which 5 Americans do you think every student should learn about?
Albert Gallitin
Ben Franklin
Robert E Lee
Ford
Ayn Rand
Booker T Washington
John Woolman (Quaker)
Captain John Parker, CO, Lexington Militia
LCDR John C Waldron, USN
Corporal Eugene Sledge, USMC
Benjamin Franklin.
Robert E. Lee.
Thomas Edison.
The Wright Brothers.
Audie Murphy.
I like the idea of An American Soldier, and Audie Murphy is my representative because he was high school aged when he fought, but I would bring them into the classroom to share their experiences personally. I would probably bring in a Vietnam vet because they get such an unfair rap from the leftists in academia. I would also see if my father would come in and talk about a forgotten part of the Korean War. He was there before the invasion, taking on communist guerrillas. Or maybe I would take a field trip to the Infantry Museum at Fort Benning because they bring in vets to share their stories.
Norman Borlaug
Benjamin Franklin: Founding father
Lewis & Clark or Daniel Boone: Explorers
Robert E. Lee: Civil War
Mark Twain: Writer
Thomas Edison or the Wright Brothers: Inventors
Booker T. Washington. Students need to know that that there have been strong and successful black leaders in our history.
Might add more later, but Patrick Henry should not be left out of consideration. He not only gave stirring speeches, but he is one of the main reasons we have the Bill of Rights added to the Constitution
George Washington
Frederick Douglass
Richard Feynman
Douglas McArthur
Queen Elizabeth I
Ben Franklin
Mark Twain
Edison
Wright Brothers
Hulk Hogan
George Soros
I like this idea, but, if it ever happened, just wait for complaints there aren’t enough women or selected minorities, or homosexuals depicted as historic figures.
Alinsky, Farakhan, Jane Fonda, David Hogg, Nancy Pelosi.
There are many, many others. Now I am talking about those the MN schools would want, as well as any other rat infested hell hole.
The reason I did not list famous African Americans like George Washington Carver and Booker T. Washington is that they get covered every year in Black History Month. Actually, listing just five makes you leave out a large number of great Americans. One in particular that I would mention for his life in general both in Europe and America would be Lorenzo Da Ponte, because his story is so fascinating. He made significant contributions to the introduction of Old World art and literature to America, including staging the first performances in America of the Mozart operas for which he wrote the librettos.
Are we really believing any of the 9/11 stories fed to us? Do we really think any of it went down the way they claimed?
Harriet Tubman for you.
LEWIS AND CLARK
GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER
HENRY FORD
THOMAS ALVA EDISON
SQUANTO
1. Norman Borlaug
2. Ayn Rand
3. Booker T. Washington
4. James Watson
5. Steve Jobs
From a Catholic school perspective:
Cecil Calvert, the Second Lord Baltimore
Bishop John Carroll
Frey Junipero Serra
Father Stephen T. Badin
Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton
From an inventor perspective:
Eli Whitney
Robert Fulton
Thomas A. Edison
Henry Ford
Jonas Salk
Most Famous Statesmen Never President:
Patrick Henry
Henry Clay
DeWitt Clinton
William Lloyd Garrison
Barry Goldwater
This is actually an amazing topic, because when you expose someone to a great person, this leads to familiarity with the person’s contemporaries, and you end up with a very nice handle on history.

I like your perspective. An individuals natural bias would limit the type of person they would consider for the five. What about a US versus world view? Who then?
