Looks like a big shift in the Chinese economic situation, in terms of electronics.

That sounds like good news for Japan. The *bad* news for Japan is that the median age of the population is about 70 today and will be 80 before too long.Japanese men and women had better get busy of else the country will be forced to import millions of moslems.

Rare people digging for rare earths.

Metaphoric and metamorphic!

I doubt very much that they would import Muslims.

The big loss is to China because they were thinking that they owned the bank.

I saw a video of the few "moslems" in Japan having a police conflict problem.I think the Japanese will be looking elsewhere for immigration.

Hopefully Japan beefs up their navy a bit, or they mind the 4 mile depth of the resources to be the least of their problems.

On the plus side, prices shall go down.

Right you are, but, I think Abe is already moving in that direction.

There are 100 million Filipinos, RIGHT NEXT TO JAPAN. Nearly all are NOT Muslims. Japan has options, provided they don’t let the Deep State (as it exists in the West) take over.

Likewise Europe has roughly a BILLION non-Muslims who they could import from Africa and South America. The fact that they instead chose Muslims is nothing other than their leaders intentionally committing cultural SUICIDE.

But in the end, Japan will do what’s best for any country, which is to LIMIT immigration - and come up with other ways to deal with potential labor shortages (robots, in Japan’s case).

Yeah, really, they have a rather large population, for a small land mass as it stands. And, they are still a somewhat closed culture.

How can the future be bright for Japan if they have a dearth of diversity and lawyers?

Nope. They lead the world in automation, and have no need for a massive workforce to supplement their pension system.

Rare Earth elements are not at all rare. The author fails on that assumption without even bothering to simply check.

This is from the first sentence of the Wikipedia article, “Despite their name, rare-earth elements are – with the exception of the radioactive promethium – relatively plentiful in Earth’s crust, with cerium being the 25th most abundant element at 68 parts per million, or more abundant than copper.“

So many journalists are idiots.

Yeah, raises some interesting questions about our propaganda machine’s insistence on diversity.

In southern Alaska there is an island that has a bonanza of rare earths. Unfortunately, the government of that State and its myriad environmentalists have done little to stimulate its production despite efforts of the Pentagon for it to do so.

But you can be sure that a supply cut to Japan was a problem, and prices should be going down.

Palladium is not as rare as gold, but it has many important industrial uses. It has not been mined for nearly as long as gold, so it is in demand and the price is high. But on the surface of the earth there is more palladium than gold.

I suspect the same with rare earth.
