The fired manager has a legitimate beef. If she was following company policy, her firing is illegal and she has recourse. If she was not following policy, she can be fired and has no recourse. I wish I were rich-I would fully fund her lawsuit against Starbucks and the black haters who are trying to make her life miserable.

The photos outside the shoppe show mild weather...no snow or ice...nothing that wouldn’t have permitted them to wait outside the store for their friend like most people would have done.

known technique of the professional internet “bums” is to (gross): pick up a used cup and travel cap and fill with... water or soda and carry in to a busy store to sit and use the “free” internet. Not as gross— go in the first time, buy an overpriced cup of star butts, and save the cup to bring in again at a busy store where for certain the baristas have little chance of “remembering” them.

Some franchise owners are hip to this. Starbucks would be wise to give “numbered” table passports to purchasing customers to allow them to stay to use the net. Does not stop the parking log parkers with hi power wi-fi antennae surfing from there. The store servers are not that great though— from experience.

Yeah, they should have purchased or left. But ...911? They should have called the non-emergency number instead.

“9-1-1. What is the nature of your emergency?”

Years ago, as a teenager, 2 am after a night out.

Buddies and I purchased a takeout pizza then entered a Chinese restaurant and seated ourselves in a booth to eat our pizza.

Group next to us asked the waitress for pizza.
Waitress informs them pizza is not on the menu.
Other group pointed at us and stated “they are eating pizza????”

The owner rushed our booth and chased us out of the restaurant!

Our library has turned into a zoo/daycare center. U cannot go there to read if you need it “quiet”. and if you ask someone to tell the noise makers to cut it out, they do nothing.

If they had purchased a small coffee they would not have gotten their 15 minutes of fame. It was all staged.

“...These two men were not following the “rules”...”

Your comment is a meta-comment on vast swaths and demographics across our balkanized country.

Some peoples just can’t follow the rules.

And yes, I said “peoples”.

Mind you that “rule” was more or less unwritten. Was just something you did, as I said, out of common courtesy. Even if it’s the cheapest thing they have on the menu, it’s still being polite.

Starbucks deserves this. ...

Yes. But the poor manager lady does not. I fear for her life and limb.

btw... Can we set this up for a Target store also?

1. I would not use 9-1-1 to call ...

Fair enough. But the result would have been the same. The cops will arrive. Ask them to purchase or move along. They refuse. They asked by cops to leave. They refuse. They get arrested. The call Al Sharpton, the mob, and CNN.

btw.... I have the non-emergency number for my local law enforcement agency in my cell phone contacts. If cell phones were made for anything, they were made for calling the non-emergency line of the cops while you are driving and witness people in cars doing stupid or suspicious things.

The non-emergency line is your friend.
