The wakes and funerals of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, HST, Ike, Ronald Reagan, JFK, were attended by all sorts & types of citizens paying respect to the passed leaders and their wives of the American Republic in massive numbers of rank and file American citizens.
The wake of Barbara Bush draw a paltry 6,000 people to view her casket in mourning. And...the following day funeral was a closed "elite establishment" affair, without hardly any public outpouring from the American public whatsoever.
Why? The Bush family with its envy, hatred, disdain, dislike and elitist gaul, dripping with disgust for POTUS, Donald J. Trump had done immense damage to its image in the eyes, ears and minds of millions of Americans who support POTUS, Trump and elected him POTUS.
That also a ditto for the Clintons and the Obamas who I suspect will get a similar reception upon their passing from the overwhelming numbers of the American people.
There used to be a time in America politics when elections were competitive, with both sides going at one another, but when the American people made their choice known...that choice was respected for those who were fairly elected.....and they would be given a fair chance to rule & legislate by a majority of the America people. No more!!!
I hate to say this......but, I fear the passing of some our past leaders passing time, will be met with simply...so what? Barbara Bush, who stood by and let the hate of Donald J. Trump fester in her sons, unabated. Not good for her and certainly not good for our beloved country. That is why you did not see or notice millions of mourning folks on the streets of the funeral procession, as we all did when Ronald Reagan passed away. Sad!!!
Honestly, would you be friends with a guy that bashed your son for months. I didn’t think so. You are being really unreasonable here. Barbara’s job is to protect her family not be friendly with President Trump. Seriously I find it hard to believe that you wouldn’t stick up for a family member. Maybe you are just cold and uncaring. There are people like that.
Her husband’s band of merry men assassinated JFK. She tried to provide an alibi with her fake letter to “home” supposedly written in 1963, but somehow never showed up until 1994 after her husband is shown to be part of the plot. Together, SHE and her husband helped send 58,000 young Americans to their deaths in Vietnam, thousands more in Iraq, and hundreds more as potential witnesses to their murders of Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and JFK, Jr, as well as the trillions of dollars stolen from the American taxpayer. Her corpse should be hung out in public to rot.
More importantly, sitting presidents almost never attend the funerals of first ladies. Obama didn't. Neither Bush did. Reagan didn't. I believe Bill Clinton attended Jackie O's funeral but I'm not certain. It's not customary. The First Lady attends.
Good riddance, maybe the rest of the bushes could join her.
I agree with you, I have nothing but contempt for the Bush family and their adopted son. They are One World Order people! G.w. never said a word against Obummer but he criticizes Mr. Trump when he’s overseas.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Hundreds of thousands of American moms sent their sons who were GW’s and Jeb’s age to Vietnam, Barbara didn’t and unlike the beloved Reagans who were steadfast in their support of the Vietnam military families, her and her ingrate husband kissed the tails of the antiwar bunch, including their “son”, Hillary’s sort of husband. I could care less who she passed lemonade to.
I was in the line in DC to view Reagam’s casket; the line was 5 hours here, 12 hours in California. I wouldn’t be bothered to wait one second for either Bush and I doubt that many other would either, so stick your number claims.
The worst was telling the peons at the stadium in Houston that they were used to being poor and it doesn’t matter what the living conditions are for them. How classy....not.
However, the Iraq fiasco, financial meltdown which paved the was for Obama the destroyer, etc. were brought to us by the Bush dynasty. No more Bushes!
Trump has been more gracious about Barbara Bush than many on this thread.
Why go down there when I can watch it on my phone, tablet, laptop, television?
When President Reagans casket was in the Capitol rotunda, people waited hours for the chance to pay their respects.
Oh don’t be ridiculous, of course she should defend her family, too bad she didn’t when the Clintons were ripping her husband and then her son George. The family sat rather quiet when Bush supporters were attacked too.
Barbara Bush sat quite silent as Obama ripped her son George and blamed him for the “mess” that he inherited.
The Bushes adored Donald Trump as he was hosting fund raisers in Florida for Jeb and made large donations to both of her sons as they ran for public office.
It’s the Bush’s selective outrage that illustrates that they are no better than any other swamp creature...
I guess Mrs. Bush didn’t think her son man enough to defend himself so she felt the need to declare Trump a “clown?” Sorry when a person puts themselves in the arena they should expect to field some blows.
“Cold and uncaring?” No, just not phony. I save emotions for people who I care about AND respect.
Their close relationship with the Clintons says it all. They are so sanctimonious and speak out ferociously against Trump yet much worse happened with the Clintons and Obamas. They really aren’t so good as they think.

One thing about President Trump, he has lifted the veil of so many phonies, the Bushes and the Romneys for two. You have both reminded me of many more reasons to dislike them!
Oh definitely. I admired them so very much and this reveal has hurt. I voted twice for HW, twice for W and was proud to do so. I voted for Romney and was proud of that vote too, but now I look at them all and think what charlatans they truly are.
