Breitbart ^ | April 24, 2018 | Awr Hawkins

Posted on 04/24/2018 5:58:32 PM PDT by Yogafist

In early March, YETI refused to place a previously negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing “recent events” as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida.

Sounds like the ole’ stock price is about to crater!!!

If it does, we'll not hear it directly. Yeti is privately held. They put the IPO on indefinite hold a few weeks ago.

I sent Yeti an email tonight. Just basically said I was disappointed inthem becoming a political organization and that they should have stuck to Manufacturing.

Amerika, what a country? So what, let Yeti go, it will give someone else the incentive to capture the NRA market with a similar cooler, maybe called the “Abdominal Snow Cooler” for deplorables.

Yea, I sent them one too. Told them that just saying that they support the Second Amendment is not enough - Hillary said exactly the same. At this point, they have to make some public gesture in support of the NRA, an unambiguous statement such as “We fully support the NRA”, and then have some kind of rebate program for NRA members - shouldn’t be a problem given their markups.

I also thanked them for (indirectly) letting me know that there are other companies for high-end coolers which are much cheaper, as I learned from forums like this, again, thanks to Yeti being a bunch of idiots.

As you know, Yeti is based here in Austin. This means that all there top tier socially runs in the bluest of the blue circles. Therefore they get pressure every day about being pals with the NRA.

NOne of this surprises me.

Yeti took a calculated risk so they could be cool within Austin social circles so they will stay the course. The only question is how much business are they going to lose?

I think they’ll be hit hard, very hard. I suspect that the vast majority of their customers are not hunters, maybe not even gun owners, but they are very likely conservatives who sympathize with them.

Yeti took a position that seats them right next to Camera Hogg, and people won’t forget it. And, as I alluded to, I suspect that many people are now happy to find out they can buy equal products at half (or less) of Yeti’s prices.

As a company, if you are able to sell overpriced items based on your reputation, you have to be VERY CAREFUL to protect it. Yeti wasn’t.

I stand with the NRA. They have done much more to protect my constitutional rights than an importer of cheap Chinese plastics.

I posted this same article as a thread I think a couple of hours before this was posted

I notice mine was yanked

It was only four paragraphs and I cannot recall if I excerpted or not

Is Breitbart required to be excerpted if it’s a Breitbart origin and not an article they’ve lifted from elsewhere like AP etc which I know needs excerpting

I do not know the rules on Breitbart given I reply versa posting threads about 1000/1

Thank you

Is it best to simply excerpt everything?

Not to worry. Today’s discovery that David Hogg is gay will sell more coolers to hunters and outdoorsman. Not to worry.

...........you nailed it!

All Yeti had going for them was a “reputation” for a superior product. But, capitalism is great and it will come back and bite you and it just did Yeti.

There are indeed equal products out there for half the price.
