Acting on President Trumps demand that his cabinet secretaries gut Obama-era federal regulations, the Treasury Department on Tuesday said it has cut over 300 standing and proposed rules with a focus on the Internal Revenue Service.
In a new 20-page report, Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin highlighted the elimination of 305 regulations, including those proposed, and the wiping away of 298 IRS deadwood rules.
Reducing unnecessary burdens will lead to increased economic growth, greater job creation, and a fundamentally stronger economy for our country, said Mnuchin. Regulatory reform is a key component of the presidents plan to make American businesses more competitive and create opportunities for hard-working Americans, he added.

Nice.
I wish he’d go all Lizzy Bordon on regulations ... but nice.
Sure it’s nice for now but the alphabet agencies need to just die. They are all worthless and basically redundant at the state level.
Put another checkmark in the WIN column.
I’d like to see an IRS Regulation that requires jailing Koskinen and Lerner for their crimes against the nation. And that reg should NOT be repealed.
I don’t even know what rules are being gutted, but I’m smiling regardless
Trump needs to eliminate entire bureaus, agencies and departments, so they are gone forever and never come back.
It’s a start.
Its a start.

Theyve forgotten Shakespeares step 1 kill all the attorneys.
Well, better late than never. ;-). /s
A lot of people have a lousy opinion of Trump, but this is evidence of a successful businessman holding the office of the Presidency.
... and then there’s the 10th Amendment aspect of it.
The worst thing about Republicans isn’t how they have no spine so much of the time but that once Democrats advance some novel lawlessness instead of honoring their oaths of office and repealing they not only don’t repeal (as Eisenhower didn’t repeal) they build upon it (as Nixon did with the EPA).
If the arguments for all these necessary programs are really so undeniably profound why can’t so-called “progressives” bother with amendments to make them “ necessary AND proper” too? Aren’t they confident they’d win the debate about the sort of Republic we should be? Fact is they never cared one jot so why debate. Why bother amending what you always hated or discussing the nature of government with those you have no respect for?
It’s not only that progressives are contemptuous of the Law as Amended and far too arrogant, but they love Arbitrary government and having an ethical standard no better than: I did so therefore I could (neener, neener, neener ... constitutions are for losers ... wait till you see what we do next).
Check out the graphs I posted at #11. Trump is actually doing it. Reducing the footprint of government.
this is great, the government footprint gets smaller.
did he fire all the extra irs agents Hussein hired?
I’m not griping. Well, not much.
Even if all he did was to stop the growth of regulations from the rate that Obama sustainedthat would be worth while.
Doing that while reversing some rules is cool.
But as I said: I’d love to see an ax swinging maniac over a surgeon’s scalpel.
The IRS sends letters to people who owe under $10,000.
They figure you pay as hiring a lawyer/accountant would cost the same and you may still owe the money. Hear those commercials about if you owe $10,000 or more...?
They should stop the extortion racket.
Trump’s doing great.
If I were Trump, you know what I’d say?
If a veteran walks into my office with injuries that the VA won’t cover, I WILL FIRE SOME USELESS BUREAUCRAT and USE HIS SALARY TO TREAT THE VETERAN!
Instantaneous re-election.
Guaranteed.
Thanks for posting those charts.
Trump’s performance is incredible.
Pounding the IRS into the sand before eviscerating it by getting rid of all “progressives” taxation would do nicely.
