Maybe an initial diagnostic/treatment error that sharply degraded Alfie's status; and they thought they'd better just bury their mistake. Wouldn't want that to be uncovered by a different hospital.

I was in contact with a Brit last night over this story and what it comes down to, the hospital staff and the courts know better than the parents............And this Brit supported their decisions..........

I believe that the British government didn’t want the world to see what a failure the NHS is. The NHS is the largest financial entity in Europe. They have more money than any other institution on the continent. That’s saying something when you have companies like FIAT, Damlier-Benz, Siemens and Bayer. The above mentioned generate revenue while the NHS sucks money from the hapless British citizens.
