They were not hostages. They were ordinary NoKo prisoners in labor camps. Two of them had been teachers in NoKo’s elite University for learning English. It is entirely paid for and staffed by Christian organizations who believe that they can bring about change by their example though they do not dare break any of the many rules at the school.
