Huma Abedin says she’s grown incredibly close to fashion designer Georgina Chapman, the estranged wife of disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, saying the pair is part of a club of women whom “people don’t feel sorry for.”
“We just…bonded,” said Abedin, who is similarly estranged from her husband, former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), in the June issue of Vogue released Thursday.
Weiner is serving a 21-month prison sentence for sexting a 15-year-old girl. Abedin, a former top aide to Hillary Clinton
who served as vice chair of Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, filed for divorce from him last year.
She told the magazine she began to bond with Chapman after allegations of sexual abuse against Weinstein broke last year.
“In allll kinds of ways,” Abedin told Vogue. “This particular club, ironically, it’s not such a small one: women who have had to endure it in such a public way, women like Georgina and me."

“People don’t feel sorry for us; you don’t get that empathy,” Abedin, 41, said of herself and Chapman. “People think you’re beautiful, you’re thin, you’re rich, you’re photographed on the red carpet, and you get stuck in this category. There’s so much more depth beyond all that with Georgina.”

She filed, but never followed through, on her divorce from Weiner, knowing that the spousal priviledge would thereby be waived and she would be compelled to testify against him. And I’m sure Chapman will do likewise.

No, Huma. People don't have empathy because they know you married for money and power and held on to it for as long as you could even though you knew your husbands were sexual perverts and criminals. And you only divorced when it became so blatantly obvious that there was zero value left to a relationship with him.

Please, Chapman definitely knew what she was getting into, but marrying a man who can make sure your stuff is always being worn by celebrities is worth it..... You damn well bet no one with a few neurons firing feels any sympathy for her... she looked out for number one and it came back and bit her on the butt...
And to Huma, a bit more sympathetic to her, but you married for power, and no woman who enters those type of relationships can honestly believe their husband will remain faithful. Though the funny thing is, to date anyway, no one has actually caught him being physical with another person.
While she may not be a stunner, she is not a physically ugly woman. I don’t care for her politics at all, but no need to pointlessly bash like that.

If she does say so herself! Huma is odd looking. I would not call her beautiful, or even pretty. Possibly striking-looking. The same goes for Amal Clooney; she and Huma look similar.
