NIKK, I think the Turks are a wild card in the mix. I think they were also a contender and had a desire to be at the head of the caliphate, which makes them less likely to cooperate in the new middle east structure. Also their rabid hatred of the Kurds can screw things up. They are much more likely to support the deep state agenda than a modernized, peaceful middle east.
