This was one of the biggest scams ever put over on the public. "Sea monkeys" are brine shrimp, tiny salt water arthropods. Many people raise them to feed tropical fish. I never found them particularly amusing, but they are easy to hatch from the dormant eggs you can buy at any pet store, with some uniodized salt, a used Poland Spring 2 liter bottle and an aquarium air pump with some tubing, to keep the water moving.

Try as I did, I was never able to train my Sea Monkeys. In fact, after several attempts, they formed a public employees union, and now I have to pay their outrageous pensions forever.
