Who is pulling strings for Bishop Michael Curry (the royal wedding) and why?

Three years ago, he was a nobody. Why was Curry brought in to officiate at the royal wedding? Who's pulling strings for him and for what purpose? He's a Trump hater. This smells highly of politics.

Glad you know more than the Episcopal Church Public Affairs publication - http://www.dionc.org/dfc/newsdetail_2/3172781 There is a huge difference between Bishop of NC and Bishop of the Episcopal Church. Sort of like being president of your HOA vs. POTUS.
Also, so very glad you have the inside scoop of all things royal on when Elizabeth gave the official approval.
