A big part of leftism is manipulating guilt, and then offering themselves as absolution.

We are now having a rash of suicides just as many have been predicting knowing suicide is an outcome of secular atheism

Who predicted? Does a rash mean that people in the public eye are killing themselves (ie Anthony Bourdain, the Spade woman etc?).
What are the statistics?
Perhaps the leftists are killing themselves over the Trump presidency? One can only hope.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

In a world where the Christian God and Savior are ridiculed and scorned, life has no value - even to oneself.

The Wages of Sin......

Suicides that have links to “The Deep State” are questionable.

Emile Durkheim nailed this decades ago: anomie.

No need to invoke veganism or even Marxism. There is nothing necessarily Marxist about being an ecofascist.

Christianity gives people a single central principle around which to organize their lives. Actually, if we were truly becoming more Marxist then we would probably see fewer suicides as Marxism is a single central principle around which people can organize their lives. It will ultimately lead to failure, but people will be fully engaged until they go over the cliff.

The only hope that atheists have is if they are smart enough they can fill their lives with scientific discovery, or if not they can become existentialists. They can decide to choose their own set of values and centralizing principle around which to organize their lives.

However, science is dissolving into mysticism with the weirdness of quantum mechanics and relativity. And existentialists will always have that nagging suspicion that the centralizing principle they happened to choose might not be a very good one.

What I believe we are seeing is the final phase of a failing American empire. People are retreating into hedonism, epicureanism, and stoicism. The good news is that most people are OK with just getting by without any overall meaning or purpose to their lives. They are OK with life being a set of sometimes converging, sometimes conflicting duties and entertainments.

We will see many more suicides, but most people will soldier on regardless.

I buy many greens, vegetables, salad fixings. I watch them rot in my refrigerator.

I do eat Zucchini and Yellow squash casserole, but it has ricotta and mozzarella cheese, sausage and pasta.

Wrote a big editorial/opinion on suicide yesterday but it got so long I just deleted eighty-percent of it.

Agree we need spiritual morals and values as the twentieth century showed beyond any doubt atheism/communism kills in brutal fashion. But these newbies have been inundated with secularism since birth and their version/vision of a utopian society has been rooted in Howard Zinn and others all society and all people are just brutal individuals except them of course. Until we place God back in schools and mental hospitals the suicide rates will continue to rise.

After all what is the point of life when moral relativism teaches you are but a dirt clod on the evolutionary scale and the solution is to basically kill yourself because humanity is the problem?

Whatever Jesus requires of you He requires ONLY thay. It never changes or morphs. Often, the people described by the author contradict themselves over time.

Good summary! I think deep down most people are agnostics. They’re not sure about God or an afterlife, but subconsciously hope there’s something there, and they tend to behave as though there is. Most people try to act according to the Golden rule as best as they can because at the end of the day, it’s in their self interest.

Add to all this the cognitive dissonance: deny you’re a man, or a woman, even having surgery to fake the illusion; if you have reproductive organs, go to pussyhat marches and declare it obnoxiously and yet, if you find yourself pregnant, reject the child and kill it; work furiously to destroy the traditional family, but fake “alternative” families as if they are the same thing. Hand your children, if you are inclined to “want” them, over to ruthless government social engineers to make sure they become good little social activists rather than productive, responsible citizens.

Try your best to wipe Christianity from the Earth while submitting to a new religion (Earth worhip, enviroweenie discipleship, whatever). As chaos unfolds and mental illness spreads like a plague, double down on your hatred of common sense and the basic rules of reality. Disassociate from thousands of years of lessons learned because you have to be morally and spiritually void to be this stupid.

Then attend the endless hysterical gatherings to protest all the natural consequences of such behavior: the sociopaths, the suicides, the shootings, the mayhem.

I’ve known too many(7 if you want to know) people that have done the ultimate selfish act. Those they left behind are hurt big time. Do I know the ultimate reason for them to carry it through? Only in a couple of them.

I had a lot of trouble reading it. Going from God to electric cars and veggies to Marxism made me dizzy. I agreed with about 20% of it, but to make your point, living without God fosters suicide because we are made to seek love, security, companionship, forgiveness, ect. Jesus fills all these holes.

A young person may be able to fill some of these with money and power or success, but eventually, when you have thought of your position in this life, you inevitably ask "Is this all there is?" Young people will ask "If it's this bad now, I don't want to get older".

Jesus represents hope. We run to Him when we can't see the answers. We believe Him when He makes promises to us. Spiritually speaking, we believe when we went under water at baptism, our flesh died and we rose as a new creature. If you believe you have already died here, there is no fear of the future. We live our life with the assurance that if our body dies, we get a new one.

Atheists have no faith. They see the end coming and are petrified with fear. They try to convince themselves that they are just worm food on the hoof. Romans 1 speaks of this folly. We say there is no Creator, so He give us over to a reprobate or a debased mind. We think we are wise, but are really fools. This is where evil becomes good and good becomes evil. It is a form of insanity that overtakes society to the point that we cannot decide who is a man or woman and animals have more worth than people. If this mental illness is not treated, eventually you will take your life or someone else's.

I think most of us can admit that a person that commits suicide has some mental imbalance. Many that have lived through suicide attempts say they were crying out for help. If they believe Jesus is there to help them, and that He loved them enough to give His life for them, these thoughts flee from their heads. Living for Christ means "Living for Christ". If we are more concerned with doing His will instead of ours, our brains are bulletproof. If we rely on whatever Christ wants for us he will provide for us, then we can't dwell on the lack of money, relationships, or whatever else the enemy has put in our mind.

The two celebrity suicides recently are perfect examples of money and fame not making you happy. If a woman living alone in a ghetto can love God, that right there should show that another woman in the same ghetto taking heroine to forget their troubles does NOT have to happen. When multimillionaires and TV personalities are self destructive, the answers have to be spiritual, NOT physical.

IMO, Marxism, eating veggies, and the other things are just manifestations of believing you are on your own. When we believe God created the universe, then He can fix the climate, economy, or whatever else, even our love life. Nothing is too hard for God. I've seen it with my own eyes.
