You are probably right-I wasn’t really thinking about the fact that Kenya is pretty much a 3d world country-the sensible notion of good fences making good neighbors likely doesn’t apply...

re holistic management - thanks! I see some good ideas here. I own a few acres in southern Arizona that gets more rain than that site in south africa but is just like the overgrazed unmanaged land in the examples, except for having cholla. Apparently before the over grazing in early 20th century it was all good grassland.
