The undulations of the greens can’t really be seen on TV...
The 14th and 16th greens are unbelievable...
lol I played Persimmon Hills often. It was much nicer than “Bogeyville”... but, I played there too.
The first day I was on the grounds, security literally had to ask me to leave. I think I would have spent the night.
Near sunset, I was standing by the practice green watching Hal Sutton putt. He missed 4 in a row from 4 feet ABOVE a hole. Then, he moved very near to me, and drained four putts in a row from BELOW the hole. He turned to me, just a few feet away.. and, with NO ONE else around and said, “Well, I guess we know which side of the hole to be on, don’t we?”
I concurred.
16 was my favorite place to sit. Just so fun watching them all try curving putts into that hill.
Also, a very beautiful place to sit.
I went to practice rounds probably a dozen times...I hate to admit it, but I did not see any of the front nine....
We stayed most always between 10 and 16....
I liked watching them cut the corner on 15....
Disappointed Spieth had such a bad round....but VERY happy tiger did not win.
A despicable human being who used steroids & PEDs to help win most, if not all, of his majors. He is the Barry Bonds of golf and should have an asterisk next to his major wins.
Not surprising his last major win was just before the PGA began drug testing.

Agree with every word. Eldrick was lucky to make the cut, (as usual).
The leg humpers at the Golf Channel are directed to keep him propped up, or risk the loss of advertising dollars.
He squandered a legacy chasing poontang...and doesn’t deserve to share the field with honorable men.
There is a par 5 at Persimmon Hill, I believe it’s the 11th...
It’s over water to the green...I hit a really good tee shot and was going for the green across that water...One of my playing partners said “Why don’t you hit an old ball?”
I just looked at him and went ahead and hit...I hit the timbers along the pond in front of the green and splashed back into the water...I turned to him and said “I can’t keep any balls long enough for them to get old...”
lol great hole.
That was a really terrific public course. Haven’t played it since 2004.
Oh gosh...I haven’t played it since the mid ‘90’s....
Sadly, some freepers here are doing the same...and one even holds him at #1 ahead of Jack Nicklaus.
That would be me (without any sadness).....based on overall stats - some of which I listed in my earlier response to you.
I did agree if we are using # majors won as the yardstick then Nicklaus would be on top.
FYI....
Majors ARE the ONLY method to determine the greatest of all time.
Propping up the PED messiah with “stats” is akin to saying you should be president because you won the popular vote.
Good grief...
Nice try, elrod.
Ok we are close. Based on your criteria Tiger is the 2nd best golfer ever.
He has been through a gauntlet of troubles, and still keeps plugging. I would be glad if he can pull off a victory sometime this year.
And like I said, Tiger played with Trump last year, and took the arrows for it. So he gained a lot of respect for him, that he had lost with me.
It’s not that I dislike Tiger so much, although I didn’t like his attitude at times...It was the fawning all over him by the media and ignoring other golfers who also deserved recognition. This, I know, wasn’t Tiger’s fault, but it just went on and on and on...Even when he did not play well, it was 50% Tiger and 50% all the other golfers, even the leaders....
For me, when he wasn’t playing, I think we got a more well rounded viewing of the tournaments...
The Media has never tried harder to drag a dead corpse across the finish line than they did for Hildabest Clinton in 2016. Tiger is a very close second.
Hes one of the all time greats. Not the greatest of all time.
woods is not over rated, woods is over hyped.
What a gorgeous woman.
