This Haiti thing: I recall reading Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, and for decades I have wondered just why that is. On the same island as Haiti (Hispanola) is the Dominican Republic which occupies 5/8 of the island area and has the ninth-largest economy in Latin America. Odd is it not?
I attributed Haiti’s condition to the ever-revolving door of corruptocrats running that place all the while thinking that someday/sometime the relative affluence of the West would filter into Haiti’s populace. I see no sign of that happening.
Now with all the evidence we have of Haiti being the child-trafficking mega-mart of the world, I’ve concluded Haiti has been kept poor, dependent and ignorant on purpose. Those conditions make Haiti ripe for any severe natural occurrence like a hurricane deliver 25x the upheaval that the same storm would dump in Florida.
Hurricanes and earthquakes in Haiti kick the door open for “humanitarian aid” to rush in giving cover to whatever evil intentions and deeds are done there seemingly year after year, decade after decade.

IF you believe the “sting” theory, it should be just the opposite. No one should take anything out of LR and send it to DC because a Little Rock Grand Jury would be far more likely to indict than a DC grand jury.
However, I will remind everyone that two months ago Cody Hiland, the Little Rock Federal Prosecutor that everyone thought was “working on the Clinton Foundation” unsealed HALF of the sealed docs in Little Rock. ALL those he unsealed were gun-related, and the news papers were full of stories of big drug busts, as well as a big-time local politician involved in corruption. So if half of the sealed indictments turn out to be guns in the middle of major drug stings, what exactly does anyone think the other half are?

The fact that some isolated islands do not have the diplomatic protection of another country makes it easier to get them. Just go grab them, territorial jurisdiction or not, and no country has claim (let alone superior claim) on the grab.

There is ZERO "reasonable expectation of privacy" (unlike most situations, the COURTS define "reasonable" for 4th amendment purposes) for wireless broadcast.

I am sure that all your points are correct. It also occurred to me that our observation sats are using long base optical interferometry to get images which are indistinguishable from an onsite slr.
Two sats seperated by a long distance feed the image into a processor which combines them. The net effect is very high resolution photographs.
The effective mirror size is the distance between the centers of each mirror.
We use this in optical and radio astronomy.
