B.I.G and Tupac is what happens when you attempt to mix L.A with North East... (and I have NO respect nor like for gangsta (c)rap).

Sugar Hill Gang - Rapper’s Delight

Epic

White kids were tuning in to KDIA out of Oakland in the Bay Area. They couldn’t play that song enough.

Two versions, long and short. Long was 12 minutes I think.

Blow Fly was Wheeler Walker Junior before there was WWJ, and a black WWJ to boot.

Hilarious. To this day, hilarious. Absolutely could not get away with it today, though it was the opposite of racist.

Extremely black. Extremely talented. Extremely funny. Wrote songs for Sam and Dave, which should give you a sense of the talent. And funny. Like, laugh until you cry funny.

I still prefer classical or bluegrass.... but thought this would be a nice flashback for many of us (including myself)
:)

Time and aging has a tendency to do that to everyone.

Just be thankful for every day you draw breath, and surrender youth gracefully.

The Notorious B.I.G. -”Going Back To Cali”

I've only ever heard LL Cool J's version of that tune.

Think I'll pass on the f bomb version.

Hi Jeff Stomp’ said, “Video Unavailable”

The link is good, but it's probably not available in your part of the world. The tune has been issued on a couple of CD's and I have it on a 78 rpm disc.
