...the world’s most polluted river. 35 million people rely on the Citarum River on the island of Java, Indonesia, but it has become a toxic river of waste.

Report was done in April of 2014.

We really do have it so good in the U.S. Not perfect. But very, very good compared to a lot of people.

The left wants an unfettered flow of people who will come to the US and do this to our lakes and rivers. And this is far worse than global warming.

Bring in a few high temp furnaces. Start on one end and grab all that sewage and move it to the furnaces. Burn at high temps so there is little pollution released.

Wash, rinse and repeat until cleaned up. As far as turning that mess into clean water, let the scientists deal with that one.

It is a stark example of them complaining about the mote in our eye all the while ignoring the plank in theirs.

My wife works in a doctors office. One of the newer doctors, a lady from Sri Lanka goes home once in a while to visit relatives. The last time she came back she said. "I like going home buy there is no place like the USA. I love the USA." Also she brings us boxes of Tea from her country.

India had a major river that was a slow flowing, bubbling septic sewer, from way too many people, in too many villages, towns and cities were doing their business near the river. Hopefully that’s changed in the last 10 years. This river is mostly litter.

I know what river you are talking about. They bury their dead in that river!!

Things that come to mind: Over-population, irresponsibility, & packaging.

These people are crowding themselves out. Why? Don’t they understand that what they are doing or not doing is unsustainable? With so many people, couldn’t many of them be employed for trash pickup & disposal?

What fool craps in the same place as they bathe & drink? With all the rain they have, wouldn’t runoff water & catchment systems be measurably cleaner than the river? Simple gutter & barrel systems would save millions of people & dollars. Duh.

Why must consumer items be wrapped in multiple layers of plastic? Bring back paper packaging & paper bags.

Finally, much of the developing world is filled with, I’m sorry to say, filthy people who crap in their drinking water. We don’t need such irresponsible people migrating here.

"...Why do they insist on inconveniencing me when there is SO much low-hanging fruit?...."

Because hassling evolved white Westerners IS "low-hanging fruit".

What’s wrong with the video is it tries to tie the blame on “plastic”, that “plastic” is evil, when the problem is NOT plastic, it is people.

Was very cool to be able to go out there into the Sunda Strait and see the remains of Krakatoa and the new island coming up. Was sad to me that even where the newest of land is coming up virgin from the sea it is immediately smothered in garbage.

Sadly it wasn’t just Anak Krakatoa surrounded by rubbish. Everywhere I went around Jakarta and surroundings the people just pile up rubbish and even burn it in fires along the roadsides.

“At a young age in a foreign country I witnessed the before and after of the extermination of a group of people. I spoke with the people of the area asking “Where are they?” they responded telling me in the hills. Then explained literally “in the hills” as in buried. “

“A blessing that we have more than two brain cells so know enough not to poo in our drinking water.”
____________________________________

It’s a pithy remark, bgill. That said, we were taught to not poo in our drinking water.

Like we had to learn that women died in childbirth because doctors and midwifes often did not do something as simple as wash their hands. And the doctor that pushed this issue was ridiculed by his peers at the time. And by discovering this issue with something as simple as GERMS he pushed forward a radicle idea saving both men, women, and children by the millions.

So much we take for granted as Common Sense was not in fact Common Sense at the time. The sad fact is millions of peoples are not taught we consider the basics and even knowing the basics have no way out of their physical Hells.

The ones I hold as evil are those in leadership in those countries who know better and choose to keep their peoples in a physical Hell to keep their own in power.
