A Texas couple have opened up their home to two bobcats, who sleep in their bed and even use the toilet.
Melissa and Mick McAllister from Melissa, a small city 40 miles northeast of Dallas, got their first pet bobcat, Gypsy, in January.
Just two months later they adopted another, named Monaco.

If I won that Mega Millions, I’d be looking into an emotional support Honey Badger.
Training it to eat commies on sight would be VERY emotionally supportive, I should think.
They’re the perfect pets, until they aren’t.
Wild animals. Nothing changes that.
Amazing! Wonderful! Until they get their faces eaten off.
“What could go wrong????”
I know right. Sounds cool on the surface but wild animals are wild animals. Had a neighbor once that owned a chimpanzee. Sweet female however he left her alone one evening and she got loose and got into the convenience store next door. He came back just in time to see the commotion and stop the police from shooting the animal. Not long after that he moved in with an elderly lady at the beach that also had a chimp so the animals could keep each other company. The cage for them was an inside/outside job that looked out onto the beach. Had a BIG sign outside warning to keep away from the wild animals, wasn’t long after some kid walked up from the beach and got close enough for one of those chimps to grab his hand and bit one of his fingers clean off.....true story.
I’ll bet they eat the burglars.
We know a lady, who lives about 200 yards away as a crow flies or a bobcat strolls.
A bobcat joins her for milk and coffee most mornings on her deck.
She had a problem with some walking human idiots not controlling their dogs and letting them roam without a lease.
That problem ends, when the idiot dogs decide to go after her bobcat.
Her ground squirrel and rat problems disappeared after her “Pussy Cat” adopted her. Her neighbors benefit from the cat’s hunting skills.
Her smart dog stays inside when its mistress is have coffee and milk with their bobcat. The dog barks when the bobcat leaves.
I find that people who want to get exotic pets like this are extremely selfish, garish and seek attention from others.
Melissa is a booming community. This will not end well for the bobcat owners.
Exactly! Anyone who has seen a bobcat go berserk, would shoot them on-sight. Pound for pound, I would rather face 2 badgers and a pigmy rattler.
Tomorrow’s headline: With no warning, couple attacked by pets and in critical condition.
Fixed it.
I remember a local news story several decades ago where a lady with a small child called 9-1-1 about their pet bobcat attacking the child. The attack was in progress during the recorded call, which they aired with the story. It was absolutely horrific. I don’t know which was louder, the screams of the mother, the screams of the child or the screams of the bobcat.
You are right, had a friend who raised a large spanish bull as a pet, one day I was speaking with him while he was petting the bull in a coral next yo the barn, the 3000 lb bull walked up to him and wanted his head scratched and put it’s head against his chest and crushed him in a split second, he died ..lesson, wild is wild, and they don’t know their own strength

He was married to the bobcat before transspecies marriage was a thing. Funniest bit ever on SNL
Perhaps. Or they may end up in a sanctuary since they are domesticated.
More from the article....."The cats prefer to pee in the toilet - or sometimes in the sink - because in their natural habit they do so in streams and ponds, being elusive hunters who prefer not to leave a scent." Ok, just NO.....
More... "Gypsy with Melissa, who says the couple have had a few broken bones in the hand, but that cats have never hurt them out of anger."
Can't wait to see how this turns out...
Both methinks. The owner will be lucky to end up with a scarred face, chest, and arms. The bobcat will likely be killed. I hope I’m wrong though.
Thanks! That was a hoot1
Bobcats are the size of a Maine Coon.
Possible to tame them because theyre small cats.
For people who complain about lack of domestication, domestic cats are perfectly capable of surviving in the wild.
