They were both geniuses, but it is sad to see someone claim all the credit as Lee often did. Makes him seem small and petty.
I have read on another website someone claiming that they have taped a bunch of generic "appearances" by Stan Lee to be used in future films.
I don't know if this is true, but it sounds plausible.
Some artists, such as Jack Kirby, need no plot at all. I mean I’ll just say to Jack, “Let’s let the next villain be Dr. Doom” ... or I may not even say that. He may tell me. And then he goes home and does it. He’s so good at plots, I’m sure he’s a thousand times better than I. He just makes up the plots for these stories. All I do is a little editing ... I may tell him that he’s gone too far in one direction or another. Of course, occasionally I’ll give him a plot, but we’re practically both the writers on the things.

RIP Mr. Stan “the man” Lee. You corralled for us a remarkable bullpen of talent not to be repeated. And above all, never took yourself too seriously.

He definitely gave some credit to Kirby, but he claimed to have created/invented several characters when they were joint creations. On individual issues, they shared the credit with both their names equal size.
Just saw his last cameo in venom. Gave me a good chuckle.

My family, there are still plenty of liberal Democrats. These will be our allies against the LEFTEST scum trying to destroy this country.
It didn’t tear down the fabric, but it sure as hell destroyed the movies. Mute the get power. Then CGI bullsh1t for the rest of the 90 mins. Scripts for his movies can be written on an envelope. I will give him credit where credit it due.....he holds the record for living the longest knowing the Clintons, and actually being the first to die a natural death, so it must have been some sort of super power to thwart of Arkanside!

Sadly, he never got to see a decent Fantastic Four movie made because Marvel sold the rights.
Sure Stan can have cameos in Marvel’s comic movies, just like other actors have had as well. most recently it was Carrie Fisher who appeared after her death in the Star Wars franchise. Stan the Man may he rest in peace and God bless his soul.
Oh, yes. That is why it was a Musical Chairs industry: Most of them worked for any and all of them at one time or another.
Jack Kirby was, I think, somewhat difficult a personality, but he was entirely correct that Stan Lee denied him the full credit he deserved for his enormous creative input. He did not just draw what Lee said; far from it. No Kirby = No Marvel.
Jack Kirby at Marvel: The Fantastic Four, The Mighty Thor, The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk [first 6-issue run], The Invincible Iron Man, Captain America, The Uncanny X-Men, and on and on. Spider-Man (Steve Ditko) and Daredevil (Wally Wood) were exceptions to his prolific output of new titles.
Fed up with Stan Lee, he went to DC, and produced the whole Darkseid cosmology (which was later somewhat purloined, in my opinion, by Marvel as the Thanos cosmology).
I think Curt Swan (Superman) and many others were underappreciated too. And many of them were very leftist, and some of them wanted to unionize (e.g., Neal Adams).
Bob Kane, to his credit, admitted at an awards ceremony, that he short-changed Bill Finger.
And then look at Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster: not credited for Superman until the 1970s. Money aside, creation is creation.
I got a No-Prize in 1968.
Now that Marvel is Disney, yes, it is a major arrow in the SJW quiver.
Try telling a child of five that his/her [binary pronouns used emphatically] favorite superhero, who is flagrantly portrayed as a so-called homosexual or so-called trans-gender, is not really a moral hero, and is thus not a good role model.
I was collecting comics before many here were even born, and I know the history of comics far better than most. Wertham was not entirely right, but he was not entirely wrong - and he was ahead of the curve.
Are you also going to mock Joseph McCarthy, like so many supposed conservatives have done, siding with leftists, and doing their work for them? (And then along came the Venona Papers...)
